I get phone calls from 000-000-0000 at 3am from someone trying to send me a fax.  Caller ID shows "PrivDirOff" as the caller name.  I've registered on the DNC list and I'll check to see if I've got call block on my phone.

I believe that there is a rule (maybe in the US only) that telemarketers MUST display their phone number... and my guess is that some re entering THIS as their "number."

I have answered and been connected to a telemarketer. When I asked to be removed from the calling list, I was transfered to someone who said she was deleting my number... and I haven't received a call from them since.

I am getting calls from 000-000-0000. I finally got fed up yesterday and answered it. I get this loud ships horn in my ear and then this voice this is your captain speaking you have just won an all expenses paid cruise. Give me a break! Nothing free in this world! I am very sick of telemarketers I have made a decision any 800, or numbers I dont't recognize I am just not answering it's a waste of time.

Got a call from this lovely ghost number and the sweet and oh so excited automated lady told me, "Hello, please listen to this call carefully.  It has been reported by the major credit bureaus equafax, transunion...etc that your credit score has improved over the past 12 months as your payment history is on time and within guidelines. Congratulations! You are qualified for $2600 in rewards!" At this point I picked up the phone and she started to ask questions and I kept hitting the pound key to see if it would mess their automated system up (like I read somewhere).  It took my pound key hits as answers to the questions and kept ratteling on...I hung up.

I am so sick of all these scams!

Well here is the phone number that is associated with the 000-00-0000.  It is 608-201-1868 and the guy's name is John that I got.  The way I got it was to be so obnoxious about what I stated about doing to his mother.  It was his 17 year old daughter that was doing the evil deeds for him.  Verizon verified it was to a company located in Wisconsin.  Go figure.

They have called me several times but leave messages such as, "Hello?, Hello?".  The last message was from an extremely rude woman who said, "Ma'am, it's very rude for you not to speak into the telephone when someone calls.".  I didn't even answer the phone, it was my voicemail...  ACK!

MUST BE A APPLICATION THAT SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS IS USING. DON'T THEY KNOW THAT MOST INDIVIDUALS WILL NOT ANSWER. GOOD LUCK, TELEMARKETERS AND COLLECTION AGENCIES ..THIS NUMBER HAS BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO ALERT ALL TO NOT ANSWERING.

I get calls from 000-000-0000 NAME UNAVALIABLE every day, several times a day. It always sounds like the same woman with a very thick accent saying she is calling on behalf of DIRECT TV. I don't have Direct TV, never have, and since getting so many harrassing calls I never will get Direct TV. I tell the telemarketer to remove me from their call list every time. Today I finally asked for their information so I could report them to the FTC and she told me I was not authorized to receive any of that information from them. 45 Minutes later she called back, I told her I wanted to speak with her supervisor and she hung up on me.

im curious as to whether this 000-000-0000 is like unknown name when you punch *67...  is there something that you can type in to cause it to show up as such?  seems to be multiple companies from one number - even telemarketers have numerous numbers due to so many phone stations...

As for me, a recording with a female voice ( calling herself "mimi" ) offered me to « lower my interest rate on my credit card ».
Then the line went dead without any further comments or informations.
