i keep getting calls from this and it's really annoying. i answered but no one responded.

Called twice today, googled the number, found your comments. Answered it the first time, no answer back from them, cut them off the second time. Saddos.

5 calls received on 16/02/08 with one message left on answerphone.  The message appeared to have been made by an operator initially and then the caller left a message that merely repeated "Hello" 4 times.

had call twice today missed 1st time answered 2nd time no one there. I'm on orange network so will ring them to report.

Reckon it could well be British Gas - Just had final demand for an outstanding bill and they only have my mobile number as a contact. Also comes through 0084 as well as 00084.

Must be British Gas, had 5 missed calls on my mobile yesterday with that number. Like a few other contributers on here I also have an outstanding bill with them, my mobile is the only telephone contact number they have.

I think it is bristish gas. Called me twice today once there was no answer and the second was a recorded message telling me office is not open and to call back between 8 and 8. Didn't quite catch the name of the company though.

I've had about 5 calls today. Only one time I heard a voice, and he said "Hello can I speak to (my full name)".  He has an asian accent. I tried to ring back and it said internation telecommunications I think.

DONT BOTHER ANSWERING THIS CALL I HAVE NOT GIVEN BRITISH GAS MY NUMBER AT ALL ANDDONT HAVE ANY OUTSTANDING BILLS WITH THEM

This number called me today, I anwered and the caller hung up after 30 seconds.  

Very weird and not worth answering.  |am also on the 3 network, would be interesting to know if other networks are recieving the same dodgy calls from this number?

Defo British Gas I've switched from them and guess they're after their final bill - will wait till I get final demand just to p*** them off a bit too!

further to above - just received text message from ""BRITISH GAS"" asking me to hone them on 0845 8500854

Silence on the other end - doubt British Gas would call and not speak - More like "Oy! You owe us money and we are gonna......"

It's British Gas.
Probably originates from the same Asia-based call centre from which they ring to hassle you into making overdue payments.
Seems like a very cynical ploy to get you to cough up - essentially bullying through nusiance calling.
This call only happened when I had a bill with them overdue, and followed a call from a call centre demanding payment.
Pay your British Gas bill, and I guarantee you, the calls will stop.

Keeps continually calling all day. I'm at work and unable to answer but the phone is constantly vibrating!

Okay, perhaps I was a bit rash. I've now paid all my bills to BGas, <b>and</b> closed my account with them, yet so far today I've had 4 calls. I've passed this on to a consumers affairs journalist friend who seems keen to investigate.

Received a call from this number this morning at 8.58am.. caller hung up as soon as I replied!

Called 3 times today so far.
Never had nuisance call before.
I day after giving my phone number to Thames Water.
I answered one to no reply.
