Received a call this morning - foreign voice. Asked for the 'homeowner or occupier' not my name, and said she was from a government agency offering me a free boiler. When I asked where she got my number from she said a third party (I am on the Telephone Preference Service). When I said I wasn't interested she seemed to get quite cross and said 'but I'm offering you a free boiler'. I asked to be taken off their database (whoever they are) but then got their number from 1471 though it rings 'not recognised'. Any ideas as to whether this is genuine or just another scam?

This is an absolute nuisance. They are calling me several times a day.

Getting the same thing several times a day, but they usually just hang up as you answer.  They did speak today and gave me the same routine as they gave Di above.  They get quite cross when you tell them you are not interested and to take you off the list.

I have just recieved a phone call from this number this is the 2nd today. It is regarding a free boiler. I put phone down as soon as i heard this. I have phone calls several times a day about free boilers. If you dont answer they leave a automated message. So sick if it.

had a  call from Asian lady, said did i want  a FREE BOILER,  i said why would would i want a free boiler when i could not afford to use it, i said now take this number off your list, as you are wasting my time and yours, she got angry then put the phoned down on me ,

Just had exactly the same call from someone I believe was from Indua called Craig. When I twice very politely advised I wasn't interested and asked to be removed from his calling list, he became aggressive and then told me to p/ss off!

The usual INDIAN CRIMINALS. No reputable company will ever allow their employees to be rude, aggressive or offensive.  Clearly, they are failing to find susceptible people falling for their SCAMS and are often frustrated by their failures.

They also tried to call with UNAVAILABLE and WITHHELD numbers when the original spoofed number that they called on was blocked.

When I asked to be removed from the calling list "Sean" told me to f*** off.

I had the same experience from this number- called me 4 times today...leaving no message...except... don't be too hasty. I had a call from the same sort of source (not necessarily this number) a few weeks back. I have time on my hands and played the game pretending to be interested, then firmly responded that I did not believe the guy, and that it clearly was a scam....Bless him, he listened then explained a bit more - I agreed he could call me back a week later and that I would investigate in the meantime. Long story but after several episodes, I have a new boiler, free of charge. Really, truly honestly. And it's a new condensing boiler so will save me money in use. And the guy who installed it was an absolute star.
Now there is a catch. You have to 'qualify' by meeting certain criteria - there is a scheme that is underwritten by the government which you can check out. The installers have obviously discovered this and are using outsourced call centres to generate leads so it is worth checking out but not a great way to market what clearly has some legitimacy. Can't vouch for 001115 etc but as I say don't be too hasty.

Person trying to speak to the house owner I said I was a tenant and he said he had been representing the government and the government was upgrading all boilers of 10 years old. He said do you have a boiler which is over 10 years old when I said no he said why do you waste my time you idiot.. Me Wasting his time that's rich. ..................................

The caller was apparently wanting to find out if I qualified for a grant to enable me to have a boiler installed for free, if mine was over 10 years old.  There is a grant scheme in place I believe, but it depends on your circumstances.   Whether these particular callers are genuine I don't know - they would be a call centre abroad 'hired' to make these calls I assume - so perhaps don't instantly dismiss them as a 'scam' [one responder above got a free boiler, he says].   If you'd prefer to look into the possibility of qualifying for this grant yourself, a search on the internet should give the details.

An Asian man called and asked if I was the house owner, I told him no and not to call me again.  So I don't know who he was.

Got a call yesterday just about six o.clock asian voice didn't speak but just got home after long journey  1471 and got this number from somewhere abroad this boiler offer should only come from your own supplier not bangladesh. does too good to be true ring any bells!!

i had the same call from an asian guy i told him that i was a private tenant,he askd me for my landlords phone number,i told him if i have any problems i get intouch with my landlord  and there is never a problem,he couldnt seem to get his head round this, and like one of the other messages above i am not sure about it being a scam,but at the end of the day who phones up saying (do you want a boiler) sound a bit arther daley.

I've bought a home phone with call blocking facility.  Every time I get a call I immediately block the number to stop future calls

This number called me this morning but hung up when my voicemail kicked in.  I'm on the TPS list but still get a least one cold call a day.

received a call from this number at 1216 hrs. today, foreign sounding caller asked to speak to the householder, I realised he was  a "scammer" and told him in no uncertain terms to get lost !

Indian caller asked to speak to the householder.  I asked why.  He said it was about my boiler and was it more than 8 years old.  I said No and he gave up!

Got a call this morning, foreign sounding guy asking for the owner and asking if my boiler was over 10 years old. I asked how he got my number he said energy companies. I told him my number is barres from cold calling and askeds him for his name and company name. This was met with a "report me if you want you f****** p****. F***off". Then he hung up. Don't answer be aware.
