- stephenIt's a scam caller wanting to take control of your PC.
They claim to be from Microsoft, they speak in tech jargon and are patient -- perfect technical support.
But they get you to install an app that gives them control of your PC.
Do NOT follow their instructions. - ThunderMan these people are persistant, I knew it was a scam as soon as he said hes from microsoft and my pc is downloading some encrypted files bur I just left the phone it took them over 8 minuetes to put the phone down on their end and theen called again twice
- Lizzy| 1 replyTell them you have a Mac they hang up immediately.
- MikeThey are now calling South Africa, also pretending to be from Microsoft. They want you to follow some instructions to change settings on your computer, after which one finds your computer is locked/frozen. When you tell the caller this, the next part of the scam is that the caller tells you that your license is out of date and you need to pay $25 to relicense it. Then - the biggest part of the scam - is that they say they can only do this after you provide your credit card details. If one is so innocent/foolish as to do this, you will find that your credit card gets "used" for all kinds of unauthorized purchases, which will end in a nightmare of fighting with merchants and your credit card company.
- JvNThey call and know also the occupant's name. Arrogant and very rude.
They also say they are from Telkom.
They should be blacklisted and blocked - Sabrina LangridgeMy caller I.D. displayed this number, I did not answer as from what I am aware, I really don't any UK numbers start with 001.

- NadeenGot a call from this number today. They have a new thing. they want to get your credit card details so that you can get a new credit card with the same details as you have. they ask for the expiry date and number so that they can send you a pin number to your phone to get something. I gave up listening and said if I wanted to do anything about my credit cards I would deal with my bank directly he then put the phone down.

- AnonPLEASE GUYS, THIS IS A SCAM. I WORK IN A CALL CENTRE AND GET MANY CALLS FROM PEOPLE ABOUT THESE CALLS. - CatherineThe idiot calling from this number claims to be from Bank Credit Card Verifications. Stating that a specific amount was debited off our credit card & they were needing to verify the purchase and the card particulars. He will ask for your credit card number - a number he should have if he was calling from a bank in connection with a purchase made against a specific card.
He also had my husband and my initials combined (Mr KJ) (Mrs CE) He asked for Mr KC ..... & Mr KC does not have a cc at Standard Bank, it is in fact Mrs who has the account at such bank - Somewhere along the lines they are hacking into personal information.- Caller: 001800180200
