I received a call claiming I have 98% errors on my computer I asked how they knew and they said they have been monitoring my computer another indian sham?

The number called me that my computer is sending them encrpt messages and that I need to fixed it before it shutdown permanently.

Just recieved a call claiming to be Internet maintance company.... Scam

I receive these calls (in switzerland) since one week from this number. the first time they asked me if i speek english, and then told me the same story about my computer etc. so i hung up. imediately they called me again and told me to "[***] off". the number is from egypt . . . really nice.

In 48hrs have recieved 7 telephone calls, all callers stating i have spyware & malaware on my system. Each stated a different Co. name. Inc: windows 24/7 support,  mpc help,  creative solutions,  software security defenders.   6 of the calls had No! unavailable the last call was from the following No! 002064560661   When i asked each of them how they got my Tel No! they all made reference to my microsoft/windows licence as the registered user.??????????? Be aware.

Got the same just 5 minutes ago... Jennifer wanted to check my computer

Today I also received a call from this number. The no-name lady told me something about identical IP numbers and that she has microsoft engineers available who could help me solving a problem as I otherwise would loose all data on my computer. She told me that she was calling from the UK but the number is from Egypt. She will call me again tomorrow morning when I am in front of my PC to give instructions what to do. She was not prepared to provide info by email. What could be the background for such stupid contacts?

I get monthly calls from this number. It´s always the same nonsense. Someone english speaking with very bad accent (arabic?) claims to be from the windows service center and tells me my computer is full of spam etc. and they´ve been getting reports. Today I spoke german so they just hung up. Called Swisscom after that but there is nothing you can do bout such calls apparently.

got a call yesterday morning from a guy who called himself mike. He told me something about microsoft and windows and asked me, if I would speak English. As I was trying to tell him to leave me alone with his strange phonecalls (this number allready called a few days before), the call was interrupted. This morning, I had the number on the display again. I did not take it. They hang up, when the answering machine starts. Must be very unserious stuff.

I also got a call  from this person.

He said i had a virus in my computer, when i asked in wich one of my 4 computers he said your windows computer, what answer is that?
Then i asked again wich computer and wich IP adress it was and he hanged up,must be a hustler!

He said he was from microsoft!

Got a call just now, Feb 1 13.50 local time
Clamed to be from Microsoft Center and just than it cut off by it self!
Scam for sure!

I've been interrupted by my phone ringing. What a strange number I thought. I did not answer but went to the internet finding these comments.
I'llabel the number on the phone - so I'll know not to answer :D

Just got a call from this number, 0020645660661 @ 13:50 GMT.
Didnt aswer as I heard of many other getting these calls lately.
Good to know is some sort of scam.

i always look here when i see a number i don't recognise and it's good to know they are usually only spam/nothing important.
these computer virus ones are especially worrying if you are taken in by them, and of course they try to sound so plausible.

This scam was exposed on BBC TV in the UK last November.  These people (usually from India with western names) try to get remote access to your computer.  They will install spyware/malware to steal your info.  They will also ask for money to "fix" faults which do not exist.  The Director of Security for Microsoft said, on the programme, that neither Microsoft nor its partners would ever 'phone you.  It would be a breach of their privacy rules.  Remember, no-one who phones like this knows anything about your computer.  They just try to trick you by scaring you.

Same calls as a lot of us,stating virus coming to them,"another scam"

Been getting calls from 002064560661, 0041445806330 and a number from India. They all claim to be phoning in assistance to Windows/Microsoft, my computer has a worm and viruses on it. This needs to be cleared and they can help me. I need to turn on my computer and do what they say. (Yeah! right! There is no way they could get my phone number in combination with my computer. And if, then they would know if it was on or off, without having to ask me!!!)
So do not take the call or hang up when they ask you stuff. Do not give them your name or any other information!

got a call from this number today, didnt answer it  and they didnt leave a message, glad I didnt answer. yet just another scam, these people MUST be stopped!

got it as well today, same thing as a few days ago from some 0041-number
