- Maria| 3 repliesI got a call from someone with a strong accent telling me he was from BT and wanted to explain that there was a problem with their system that is why my internet was slow last week, and if I was sitting near my computer he could help me deal with the problem! I told him we had not reported slow internet and that I did not believe he was from BT and how dare he phone this house trying to get into our computer. He shouted at me not to take the problem we were having out on him!? I put the phone receiver on the table and left him to continue shouting whilst I went about my business. He finally hung up.
- D. Vader replies to MariaHello Maria, I'm so glad I checked this site and found your post. I just saw this number on my caller display, and I have now blocked it! Cheers

- CF| 1 replyThis is an international fraud designed to get total remote access to your computer. The scammers claim they are from your internet provider and have detected a virus. They then talk you through the process of downloading a piece of software onto your computer that allows them to 'virtually' see everything you do. This means they can then get all your passwords, all your logins and all the details of any payments you make or receive. They then, obviously, rob you blind a few days, or weeks later as well as make purchases in your name.
- MattyJust now got a call from the same number and the lady had a south Asian accent.. she told me that I have to check my operating system for which she will guide me and if I don't do that my computer will crash in an hour.I told her that let it crash and I don't mind buying a new one.. She put the phone down immediately.. She was not ready to give her phone details except a fake name. Pls be careful guys..do not attend such calls and fall in the trap.

- FinnbassBeen calling me for weeks but I either miss the call or they hang up as soon as I answer. Someone actually spoke today and claimed he was from BT and wanted to talk to me about my connection. Lousy connection, long pause before speaking, loads of background noise, strong foreign accent - My turn to hang up.
- Teresa BryantA male who said was from BT Openreach. He wanted me to turn on my computer as there was a problem with my internet connection. Did not do this. I dialled 1471 and the number that rang me was 0058754530, which I rang and was not recognised.

- A.Silent call ending with computer - 12:00pm Monday 7th December 2015
- Mr anonymous headCall blocking technology blocked a call on my landline from 0058754530 on the 8th Dec 2015 at 9:01am GMT. They had tried to call a day previously, but didn't engage call screening process. Not sure if number is international despite reports, as my phone is set to block all international / internet calls. I thank those who have made their reports here and I strongly encourage people who are sick of this - to just buy a call blocking telephone (any brand will do), please help put an end to this 10yr old scam, it's getting tired, these criminals must still be making hits because they're still doing it!
- Caller: BT Openfart
- Call type: Prank
- To CF replies to CFCF - Please be aware, the goal of this scam isn't to see your passwords or any sensitive data on your computer. They lock you out of your PC, damage files and then demand a ransom fee via credit card (to unlock your PC) or offer bogus repairs for the damage that they have already caused.
- AJ| 1 replyGot a call from this number @ 14:01 5/2/16 claiming to be from BT OUTREACH TECH DEPT, female with an Asian accent. Usual spiel re computer viruses, wanted me to switch on my computer so they could instruct me how to install a fix. I said I would ring BT to check, caller promptly hung up.
- 12 replies to AJBT Outrage talking to a customer. Has to be a scammer. Is there anyone in the UK who has EVER been allowed to talk to them? Yes, I know you can occasionally get a mobile call from the guy who is working on your line. We are not talking about that.
