keeps calling asking watch make our tv is ask them not to call but just hangs up phone over 30 times

Two calls from this number on 2nd October 2012 in early eveing.  When the instrument is picked up the call is dead.

Loads of questions: Age group, Income group, TV make, washing machine make, would I be interested in supporting Age UK, Great Ormond Street, Do I have an intruder alarm (!?). Answered some but I eventually hung up. Seemed a bit dodgy

This is a very odd number.  You have given them, even with partial answers, enough ammunition to keep a lot of cold callers busy for a while.  The reason for these fake calls is to tie up, name, address and "live" telephone number with as much information as they can get.  They then sell on the information to cold calling companies and scammers.
