Keep getting calls from this number. when i answer no one picks up..

As other comments, getting called 3 times a day, no one ever answers. Really annoying.

I'm on 3 and I get upto 6 calls a day from them. It's really persistant and when I answer, no one speaks.

Yep - me too.  About 6 times a day starting a couple of days ago.  What mobile networks are you guys on out of interest?

Also several times today. Picked up once, at first no one speaks and then if not mistaken as I was in a rush it was connected to a computer (female voice) saying something about it being an automated call about energy account and asking me to call back. Dodgy!

Hi I got this 3 times today, 1 of them someone spoke says he was from British Gas calling about an account I haven't had for 6 months, than said he couldn't hear me and hung up. Is it really or is it someone out to drive me insane?

It's definitely from British Gas. Specifically

They have just rang me about arrears I have, even though I pay by Direct Debit and my account is up to date. They rang my home phone three times, before my partner gave them my mobile number. They apologised for the bother, but I'm 100% certain they'll ring me back!

I'm also certain they are based on the Indian sub-continent.

Yep - Reckon you guys are right - Been stalling my British Gas payment until I get paid - Only just started today after recieving final demand - 5 Calls so far.

For months this number keeps calling my mobile- how do I stop it as there is no person at the other end? I do not have an account with British Gas

I got a call from this number 4 times yesterday. I have an outstanding unpaid bill with British Gas and I'm now sure that they have outsourced their credit recovery department to the guys at Bangalore.

twice today and i get nothing at the other end

Reading this I'm starting to think it's a scam. I think that perhaps some scammers got hold of some information from British Gas or whoever and repeat it to you to make themselves sound genuine. I've rung BG personally about my final Bills which I've only just received so I'll be paying them in the next couple of days. Once I've confirmed with BG themselves that the accounts are settled I'll see if this number keeps calling me. If it does then I'll change my number, sinple as. I'm also going to talk to my bank and look at my statements to look for anything dodgy. Although the fact they are calling you at all seems to suggest that they don't have the vital information they need.

I've not given them any details thusfar and I'd advise than none of you do.

I got a call too +84 is in Vietnam, I called back and it says the number is not in use.

I get this call on near enough the same date every month, and they keep asking for Miss E. Karry even though i keep telling them it the wrong number. you would think they would take the number off the account to stop the hasslethey cause people who dont have any accunt with these people

Guys - its a scam. I checked with British Gas after their first call and my balance was £0. Then they rang me again today asking for £192 again. I told them they were criminals and they hung up.

This number has some link to an American con artist called Joseph Brian Allred who appears to run Congolese etc. ladies of the night in London.  I have just thrown some of them out of my flat in Fulham where they were squatting, and have now started getting calls from this number.

its a scam by brithish gas, dont answer or call back! if they text you saying call British gas, its a scam dont do it.. At the end of the day people will go through any lenght to make money!

after a long search i found out this number is BRITISH GAS i contacted them and was sent a written apology stating that they would remove my number. if they don't then under British law i can sue for harassment! (i now eagerly await their call!)
