I am getting several calls a day on my mobile - which I now reject - I took the first one and it was an automated message claiming to be from the Nationwide Building Society with a call for Miss someone or other - I am a 65 year old man!  The scam seems to be that, as an overseas call, you pay to be connected to the number - my pay as you go account bwas deducted about £1 to take the call.

I just got a call from this number and when i answered i couldnt hear anything. how strange!?

0084 is a country dialing code for Vietnam (mobile & landlines). I get a couple of calls a day from 008453312610 number every couple of days - I just ignore them ... must be some kind of rip-off .... don't have any friends in Vietnam :)

automated call reckons to be from nationwide with "important news about my account" Asked me to input my dob, hung up at that point

Call wa for "Richard Brown from Nationwide Building Society - press any key to continue" - guess what, I'm not a bloke, and don't have an account - SURPRISE

Is this still going as I've just received two missed calls off this number.

Went dead when answered, so having seen other comments an expecting a £1-00 charge on my bill.  What a way to scam people!!!!!!!!!

Phone rings and when answered no reply

Getting calls this number regular daily morning/evening for Susan ???.Never leave message apart from press any key to continue. He sais he is from Nationwide building society.
DONT FALL FOR IT / IGNOR. ITS A SCAM AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED AS SOON AS YOU REPLY IN ANY FORM.  NOTIFY POLICE IF CONTINUES AS OBTAINING FUNDS BY MENACE.
FRAUD FOR SURE.

Claim to be Nationwide Building society, had 2 calls today.
Emailed Bank to ask if this is correct.
