Received a call from number 00881942011053 at 18:50 on Tuesday 17th November 2009. Should I receive any further calls from this number I will be reporting this matter to the appropriate legal bodies.

This son of a [***] is calling me and then stays silent. Does anybody know what is this for?

Received a call from this number at 7.58am. When I answered the tone was engaged.

got a call from this number im with vodafone ill be ringing them on moday to sort this out im glad there is information about this number here, apparently the are illegal numbers so if you get a call from this person ring your phone company asap

got a call from this number at 6:00 a.m., it was silent when I answered

I got the call about 20 minutes ago in Slovenia. I answered and there was only silence, so I interrupted the call.

I also got a call from 00881942011053. but it was at 06/11/09 at 20:13. I was to late to pick it up. so i called back. but then it says that the nummer is incorect. A friend of mine did a little schearing on the web and though it was a satalitefoon. I didn't do anything more but it's kinda strange. btw i live in a villige in holland

Hi, this morning about 7:00 I got a call from the same number, but I didn't pick it up. I never call back to the uknown numbers, but I was curious and tried to find the code of the country. I found this page, as well as many messages re this in Russia. I called to my operator and they have no information about this number at all.

I got a call from this number today. Didn't answer it as I was in class. 88 is not a country code for any number so I decided to google it and found this! What a weird mystery!! Sounds like a scam! I live in a city in New Zealand.

I got a call from this number too. Weird as. I'm from NZ. The line was through and there was some background sound of static but the weirdo stayed silence.

I just got a call from this number too ... im based in Auckland, New Zealand.  Must be going through a Vodafone database somehow.  Does anyone know what this caller is wanting to achieve?

What time you received the call? I got it around 17:48 on 2nd Dec 09. I'm on Vodafon too, based in NZ.

Got this info from a Slovakian website, dated Monday, 30 Nov 09:

"The largest Slovenian mobile operator informs users that have recently re-abuse began to emerge in a telephone call.  The point is that the user receives a missed call with a short number 0881942011051 or 00881942011053.
If a user calls back, the high cost, because it is a call to the satellite network. In Mobitel pojasnjuejo that such calls are an attempt to increase your traffic. Users are therefore advised users not to return calls to unfamiliar numbers from abroad."

I stupidly called the number back but luckily (and hopefully no other consequences) it costed me just over a dollar for about 58 seconds.

Received a call from a similar number.  I stupidly phoned back as I was curious.  Won't return further calls.

i also recieved a call from this number.i didn't pick up the phone, so i don't know =who is it. i think it doesn't matter, because it happens to have calls from unknowen people.
