Asian woman by name of 'Smith' claims ton for BT and concerned about my internet connection.

A dangerous variant of the "Event Viewer" scam (Google that). The usual Asian voices trying to convince you there is a problem with your computer. If you follow their instructions, they will try to get you to access www.form303.com which is I think their own malicious website. This immediately tries to download a version of teamviewer.exe onto your hard drive and would then allow them to take over your computer for their nefarious purposes: basically to extort money.

Phoned today purporting to be from BT and that there was a problem with my internet connection. They did not ask any security questions which a genuine BT would have done. I pointed this out to the caller whose English was very poor so she didn't completely understand what I was talking about. I asked her who she thought she was talking to and she gave me a name of my colleague who died six months ago and BT are perfectly aware of this. She couldn't even grasp this. I hung up eventually.

Not a BT number.     Not even a UK number.

oh what fun the technical department of BT scam. 2 calls in one morning and 1 a week or so ago. Claim there are critical security errors on my computer . Unfortunately they are not interested in asking any security questions, one didn't even know what BT stood for. If it weren't so tedious and serious , it would be funny. If you have a spare few minutes play 'em along to waste their time. Just don't let them near you computer or its settings.

Asian lady called, said she was BT technical to say malicious activity on my downloads. I told her I have Norton firewall. She said "pardon madam I do not understand"

Silence from caller when I answered

Got 2 calls within 30 minutes from this number....first call was a hang-up, second call was supposedly from BT, usual foreign voice telling me my PC computer was creating problems on the BT system  and they needed to check my Microsoft Windows settings etc., etc.  Strung them along for a few minutes then explained that I did not have a PC running Windows and gave them something to confuse them by pretending I was running Linux on my Mac  :)  They hung up  :)

The man who spoke poor English and could hardly be heard above the noise that was in the background, said he was from BT and from what I could hear was something about the computer use between 12.00 noon and 4.30pm. I knew right away it was a scam, and so I told him this and just Goodbye you scammer and hung up.

had a call from them today, said they were BT, I was passed onto the 'manager', after stringing them along, The  manager asked me run the event viewer on my computer, and show the errors!! (I didn't, just pretended I was!!)... then asked me to access www.form303.com, he said they would access my errors and clear them for me, as there were hackers trying to get on my computer at midnight!!!!  I said I wasn't sure I wanted him to do that............... line went dead for some reason, so I wasn't able to continue the charming conversation!!
