This company is a nightmare - i will admit i got in debt when i was younger - i was 18 made a few stupide mistakes............i began paying them i missed a payment due to me losing my job..i had 1.24 in my bank account after explaining to them it was impossible to pay as i was absolutely skint literally a 45 minute call of getting nowhere they told me they would need to take 1.23 from my account...at this point i got really annoyed and have refused to answer calls from them - this is my only debt nowadays theyve been threatening me for 2years with the same call.......

ignore it if your credit rating is already dead!!

Ie had dozens of calls from this agency and im considering changing my number . What annoys me is they ask a string of personal identity/security  questions before they will even explain who they are .

I refuse to answer their security questions now and hang-up the phone.

As i understand it  - you have every right to refuse to speak to them on the phone .

Simply tell them to stop calling your phone number  and tell them to  ONLY contact  you by letter in future.  If hey still continue to call -warn them that what they are doing is harrassment.

I rang them back for my brother.... and played the same game ... I said to him "for your security can I have your name and date of birth please" lol , silence for a couple of seconds, then he said " no, I need yours" I said " no I rang you this is for your security can i also have your postcode and the first line of your address?" he sounded confused and said "no, we ask you those questions" I said " why wont you tell me yours?" he said " I cannot tell you because of the data protection act" I said "fair enough, I wont be telling you mine for the same reason" he said " we need it so that we know that we are talking to the right person" I said ok, and gave him my brothers details who now lives in australia "He gave me all the details of a debt belonging to my brother" I told him he had just broken the data protection act as I was not the person he was looking for and now could I have his name..... he hung up on me lol.

i got a ring from them at quarter to 9 am and i went to sleep at 4am and i was like dude and he was literrally shouting down his headset. "CAN I SPEAK TO A MR". well i went £60 overdrawn on my HSBC account that i cound pay back because as i was about to hsbc closed my account well any ways the dude bugged me and bugged me for a payment he said either pay in full or 2 halves so i said 2 halves the he was going on a said if i pay full i get 10% off and the dude could even calulate he said 52. Then he started going on about how i can pay the whole thing off at £48. so i was like fine take it.

This company has called 3 times in 2 days asking for someone who has nothing to do with our household, although we are aquainted with this person, as in know their name,  they have never had anything to do with us.

They ask for a reference number and ask for this person by name.  After the 3rd call I got concerned and rang them back about 30 mins later.  They said they had no record of calling my number or that maybe it had been dialed by accident.  When I pointed out that this was the 3rd call i had personally taken, and they were looking for the same person each time, and quoting their home address,  they said I must have been mistaken, as they had no records.  When I asked what kind of business they ran he could not tell me, when I asked to speak to a manager they could not do that either.  I told them I would take leagl advice if they called again.

Is this coinsedence or has someone we know tried to do us over. We have no outstanding debts which makes it more concerning!!

    Any advice out there.

This company is known as Lowell Portfolio I...

They have no understanding of the OFT Debt Collection Guidelines...

I am a social worker who deals with disabled peoples debt, as I have to write to nearly all DCA's...

Lowell Portfoilo are the only ones who seem to think it is perfectly accatable to continually call my office looking for people, even though I answer the telephone with local aurthority script and my voicemail explains who they are calling outside office hours...

I have now reported them to my collegues in Trading Standards and have asked our Switchboard to add there number to the block list, they are now only answered by a recorded explaining that they are calling a Local Aurthority and to remove the number from their files.

If anyone is intrested their Address (without PO Box) is

I received a missed call from 01133086000 this morning.  Then I got a call at my work from someone called Red Services acting on behalf of FLA Finance (or something).  He asked me to give him the first line of my home address, I asked what it was in connection with to which he replied, due to data protection I can't until you verify you're who we're looking for.  I said well you phoned me at work on a direct line and I answered with my name.  He said can you verify your address so I said again, not until you tell me what it's in connection with.

Again he gave me the same blurb.  I said I don't recognise the company, you've phoned me at work on a personal matter when I know I don't give my work number for personal matters, so I'm confirming nothing until I know who you are.

He said in a rude way - You should know us, you've spoken to us before and I knew then it was dodgy as I KNOW I haven't spoken to them before.  I said if you write to me and tell me what it's about I'll deal with it then but until then, not to call me again.

I don't even have any outstanding debt but from reading on here, that doesn't seem to matter to them?

I missed a call from this number 3 days ago and was slighlty concerned since i've only had my landline for a few wks and i've only given it out to 4 people. I am not and have never been in debt, so i reckon this is a company just dialling people at random trying to get money out of them. I'm so glad i didn't answer now.

I have just received a call from these people on my direct line at work, which is bizarre as I do not give that number out to anyone other than business contacts or direct family members.
The woman  was calling from Lowell Financial on a 'personal matter' and as with may others would not tell me anything until I divulged my full name, address and date of birth details.
I do have debts being managed by a company and these are all up to date so have no idea who this is or what they want. I also don't give personal details over my business line in an open plan office with people within earshot.
I will await their next call with baited breath.

Well, glad to see I'm not alone; just had a call from this bunch of goons; they started by asking for me by name.  I refused to answer and confirm instead asking who they were, they confirmed Lowells Portfolios.  I asked how they got the number as I'm ex-directory and number withheld - he refused to answer that instead just repeating "Am I speaking with XXXXX?".  I then mentioned that the number he had called was on the telephone preference service at which point he hung up (TPS Rocks!)...

But I really want to know how he got my number - I share it with no-one; my girlfriend, my immediate family and that's it!  Not even my work has my home number and I never put it on any forms or on-line web-sites.  So where they've got it from I've no idea...

Anyway, I have caller line ID on my phone so I'll duly ignore it from here on...

This company keeps rining me as well, evenings and early in the morning.  The odd thing is they are calling a company mobile number and don't even seem to know who they are trying to reach.  I just ignore them now when I see the number come up.  They are a waste of time.
