Call from Gary at Motorplaceuk.com advising that he has 4 buyers for my car and for a registration fee of £79.95 they will ensure that finance is in place for the buyer who has asked to be matched against vehicles such as mine.  As soon as he mentioned a registration fee my wife smelt a rat and told him that he would need to speak to me.  He then gave the website WWW.motorplace.com.  When inputting the details into google i was met with this site and details of motormarket.com with the exact same content but different name.  This company was only incorporated on the 12 November 2008.  Needless to say they have not received a call back.

Haven't wasted any time researching who's who on this number, but a few times now I have been called from the number and the caller either hangs up on answer or lets the phone ring once or twice and hangs up. Whoever they are, professionalism isn't in their vocabulary!

I have also just had a missed call from them. My phone rang once, then they hung up.

WARNING! Motorplaceuk is a total con, i put my car in the Admag, Motorplace phoned me up said they had a buyer for my car and that i would get the full asking price if i paid the admin fee, i paid the admin fee of £79.95, REGRETFULLY!It has been over 3 weeks now and i have heard nothing from them.

I have been called twice by these people now.  The first time I offered to increase their fee to £300 should they successfully sell my car, but I would only pay on completion.  I pointed out that this is a 3000% increase on their aledged 9.95 fee, after my deposit had been returned.  But they weren't open to the offer.  So much so that I was shouted down by the person on the phone - telling me I wasn't listening!!!  Great way to win customers!!  If they had buyers guaranteed, what company in their right mind would not have taken me up on my offer?
The second time they called I didn't answer.

I work for motorplaceuk and we do actually sell some cars/caravans/bikes/boats we are new at the minute and are slowley getting more and more buyers in so if you price it well it will sell with us!!

Dont use them!!!  Ive had two calls from the same company, stating to be two seperate companys.  First time they said their fee was 99.50 then when i wasnt interested they rang back 3 days later and offered it at 49.50 (however claiming to be a different company, but trust me theyre not i went on their website this time and both numbers used were listed on there!)  Anyway when i said i might be interested the guy tried to chat me up with my partner sitting next to me! How proffesionnal!!!  As i say dont use them they seem like such a cowboy company!!

I told the guy I wasn't interested and hung up, he immediately called me back. I sent a busy tone. He then kept ringing constantly, each time I cancelled the call he just range back immediately. After 5 mins I answered and said "Are you kidding?" to which he replied "Are you?". I had to switch my phone off to stop them calling.... He sounded like a right cowboy as well.

MotorplaceUK - don't bother guys - these really are a wunch of bankers - all gob and no action whatsoever. Trading Standards even won't do anything about them except log a complaint at the helpdesk and I'm still £49.95 lighter for trying. They need looking into big time by someone carrying some real weight like the One Show or one of TV's scamhunters as I bet this scam has happened all over the UK if everyone was truthful!

The above no. called at 0930 today (29th Apr). Very difficult to get the obviusly desperate and poorly paid lady to draw breathe so i could get a word in!  I was interested for the first 10 seconds then the penny dropped.  Hence checking out website.  Told them i never agree to anything on the phone, screen, doorstep etc.  The Company offered to put something in writing.  Conversation finished!!

It's a con!!!! Why would anyone contact them first if they were interested in your vehicle??? Surely they would check out your car first then apply for credit. My girlfriend fell for this scam when selling her car. She foolishly paid the money then never had one viewing in weeks!!! When trying to contact these people it was impossible. These people should get proper jobs, they are just parasites with no morals. There's not just this 'company' that tries this scam there's a few so be careful. Don't believe the crap they tell you it isn't true!!!!!

Received a call today from lady on 01162616700. Stated that she worked for
Motorplaceuk and that the company would sell my caravan for me at a fee of
£79-95 payable in advance.I suggested that I would pay their fee on completion of the sale.Guess what? They refused my proposal. AVOID.

I had a call the moment my advert went into my local paper. I was also quoted the usual garb about the £79.95. I did feel it might be a scam at the time so asked them to call be back in a week. This gave me time to check them out. Whish I'd found this page then. I got the same old flannel about how they had matched my vehicle to many of their buyers. After many calls and being passed through to the callers manager I parted with £49.95 2 weeks ago(now feeling very foolish). I've not had one caller for my vehicle!!! Not really sure what to think of it all.

I had a call from 01162616711 today and he told me he could sell the car I was advertising. When I said no thanks and hung up. He called me back! He then procedded to tell I was rude for hanging up! I then DID get rude! He called back again and I hung up! He called AGAIN and my husband answered...strangly he didn't wish to speak with my husband.

He gave the name as WWW.MOTORPLACE.COM and I checked this out. It looked great, but I couldn't get any of the numbers to work! So I then clicked on this site and saw what was being said.... so I rung WWW.motorplaceuk.COM and they were HORRIFIED!

I see a lawsuit coming up...

Had a call from Richard the so called sales manager who gave me a load of chat about the website, even gave me a company reg number and said to check out companies house to justify.Having read these comments I think I have just been saved from wasting £79.95 of which I should have got £70 back on sale of vehicle. As others have said, why would anyone looking for a car go through them when they can simply look on autotrader website.
Richard told me they are a credit company for car buyers. SO ARE BANKS so stay clear of them.
