Very odd call received this afternoon from this number - the second time it had called me today, according to my calls list.  I was out when the first call was made.  Foreign voice - male - and when I asked who was calling, said "I'm telling you!"  but refused to give details of who the company was and what they were flogging.  Just kept asking me if I had a BT phoneline.  I just hung up.  Exasperating, as we're registered with telephone preference lot.

Me too... Asian sounding male tells me he is working "in association with Microsoft" and that my computer IP address is infected by a virus which is giving out my details to other sites. Unfortunately - for him - he didn't know my IP address or who my internet provider was (so I can't be giving out that much information!). Worryingly though, he did know my name. (for the record, he said his company was I-Global.)

My dad got a phone call from this person claiming to be iGlobal and telling him he had virus'. Being the idiot my dad is he fell for it and gave them control of his computer. Since I don't live there anymore I can't gauge the damage that's been done, so I've just got to hope he hasn't given them what they wanted.

Just had this number on - Asian sounding gentleman saying they were from Microsoft and that my computer was givng out a virus, and could I switch my computer on.  Insisted that I had a problem and that "I am holding the line, sir".  I stressed that my virus software was up-to-date and that I didn't have a problem, but he insisted that "I am holding the line, sir" and would not take no for an answer.  Said byebye and put the phone down in the end.

We've had a very odd call from this number too.  My wife answered it and then passed it on to me as she didn't have a clue what the guy was talking about.  He had our surname and said that we were sending out viruses from our IP address, he said that he was working alongside Microsoft which made me think why the hell is he phoning a Mac user!  I was extremely suspect and after a much heated argument he finally got to the point that he wanted me to power-up the computer on go online, which of course I didn't.  I kept telling him that there was no way that my computer would have any viruses on it and he kept giving some story that didn't make any sense what-so-ever about my IP address sending out viruses to Microsoft!  In all this suggests to me that it's probably a scam where yo(which doesn't exist) and then having your computer installing some kind of spyware or something from their end that will gather all of your private details such as credit card details etc...

Just like other people, I get these calls. Sometimes it hangs up immediatly, other times there is no one on the end. When I press the button to call the number back I am told it is out of service ! I am getting these calls on at least two ocassions a week. Isn`t it about time someone in authority did something about finding out who the hell they are.

Had a phone call from an Indian guy today claiming to be working for Microsoft for a company called IGlobal. Said he needed me to log onto my computer as I had loads of viruses that needed cleaning up. I asked him what he would do to clear the viruses and he said he would pass me onto an engineer and they will take control of my computer and clean the disk and hard drive. Unbeknown to him, I had done my research (as they had called numerous times before when I wasnt in and spoke to my mum), and found various sites which indicated this was a scam. I said to him that if he was from Microsoft he will be able to provide me with my IP address and Windows Operating System. With that, he hung up. This is a total scam and seems like they are trying to con loads of people. I read on one site that someone did do what they asked and took 40mins to clean the hard drive, to the sum of £180 from his debit card. Do not fall for this.
