had a call at 11.02am yesterday.from a number saying if i was interested in a job cal them. i checked the number on this website to see if it was worth calling and it wasnt. and again i got a call at 11.02am this morning from a different num but basically the same voicemail was left saying to call them. it cant b a coinsequence it was exactly the same time.i never had these calls until them night before the 1st 1. n that night i registred on multiple job search site such as monsterjobs n job search. so 1 of these r using our numbers to irritate us and possibly scam us into a reversed fne charge in order for them to recieve money.

I also have had a call from this number telling me that they have a job opportunity for me as a Mortgage advisor althoigh I have no traning at all in this, they told me that they would give me training and then place me into a job, for a basic of £18,000 to £22,000 a yr. I have now come to realise that they are only a training company and not a agency like Monster or Reed. Do not waste your time!!!

I had a message left same as you so I called back, same copany, saying that they have a job for me as a mortgage advisor.  I've got no experience, they said they give me the training. I have a meeting with them at 3pm on Monday.  Now I'm not sure if I should go. She didn't have any of my details, like my name, phone number, address etc.  I register on the totaljobs and reed just yesterday.  Should I go?

I had a call off The business development academy the begining of the year, so i went to the office had an interview with a girl, i then did the course they supplied, there was a fee involved but now im a qualified it consultant, working for a large company on a really good annual salary so there not a scam, to be honest i did think they were but i thought i would go along to find out and they weren't its really worth doing.

I had a call from the same number (0121 616 5180) they offered me a job in finance (Im a forklift truck driver) and told me they would train me up.
I asked for them to send me information via e-mail they said they couldnt and they gave me a website address(www.stacademy.co.uk) I tried to check out the website and it didnt exist, so I put it in google, and it came up with courses in health and beauty.
I then put the number in google and found this site.
I'm now going to report them to monster.co.uk.

    ***SCAM***

This is a complete scam - the company is variously called The Business Development Academy (www.bdacademy.co.uk), The Financial Training Academy (www.ftacademy.co.uk) and others.  They sign you up for training courses, and say that they guarantee you work at the end of it - if you search google under the Financial Training name (adding the word "scam" helps, otherwise you'll have to go past a few results first), you will find many, many sites about it.

I had them call me yesterday, insisting that I meet them asap, inferring that they were an employment agency - the lady was not happy when I said that I was busy today and could only make it on Monday - cue 1st warning bell...  Real agencies don't pressure you - sales people do.

Rather entertainingly, searching for the Financial name brings up plenty of excruciatingly badly written and spelled posts from the person who created the site asking for help!  Looking at the variations on the websites between each company variant shows that they are all created from the same template, and are almost identical!  They really do look like the ones created by Nigerian scammers - I've reported them to Watchdog and Consumer Direct - if anyone else has experience of their mis-selling I strongly urge you to do the same, especially as searching for previous scams comes up with a few people who have lost thousands from this company (note how there are no contact names or business details on the website aside from Contact details - who is the MD?  The About Us section spouts some drivel about how great they are, then a happy picture of two people in a sunset...)

Several of the above posters confirm that they were contacted via Monster.  I have made an official complaint to them as the company are violating the Terms and Conditions by charging for training etc - Monster is for Employers/Agencies only, and the T&C directly states that this is violating the terms.

Searching for successful course takers who have gained a job position are non-existent on the net - the post a little above mine, most likely from an employee of theirs, is the ONLY one I have seen, and I've been researching the company since 6pm (almost 5hrs ago - although I've also been reporting them in the meantime!).

I had a call today from Susan at Academies International (0121 616 5180). She said that she had found my details on Monster, and asked if I would be interested in re-training as a Financial or Mortgage Advisor, with a guaranteed job at the end of 30 days training.

Now I'm no expert in this field, but I do have a number of highly qualified Financial Advisors amongst my personal friends, and I know how much the industry has suffered lately and how tightly the industry is regulated - so I immediately smelled a rat!

Susan was trying to book an appointment for me to call into their Birmingham office for an interview, so I asked for more information. Susan directed me to www.academiesinternational.co.uk but was unable to send additional information by email, so I arranged to call her back on the number she gave me (0121 616 5180).

Calling back later, I found that this was Susan's first day, and that she was working from a call-centre based in Birmingham's Mailbox, although the company was based in Lonsdale House, Blucher Street - a short distance away. Susan had to check with her colleagues occasionally, but was able to confirm:

The company has been trading for 4 years (Experian shows that they were incorporated in May 2009, and have not filed accounts).

The company also represents: The Financial Training Academy Ltd., London Marketing Services, The Financial Recruitment Academy, The Business Development Academy, Britannia Finance and Mortgages.

They have their HQ in London (4 Frederick's Place) but this is an accommodation address belonging to the London Mercers Company, and the former office of Solicitors Marshall Ross & Prevezer. They also have offices (mostly rented by the month) in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and Oxford, but also operate in Poland, China, India and Pakistan.

The up-front fee for the various training courses, starts at £700 but does guarantee a highly-paid job at the end of 30 days training - but Susan was unable to discover which company or financial institution this would be with.

Her main job seems to be trawling employment sites, where job-seekers can post their CV, to glean contact details, and although she said earlier, that she had reviewed my CV and thought I would be suitable, she was unable to tell me which aspect of my CV led her to that conclusion.

One of the searches took me to http://www10.learndirect-advice-search.co.uk which appears to be part of the direct.gov.uk's Careers Advice site, but the domain is registered to a private company, Ufi Ltd., based in Sheffield. Links on the page take you to the genuine direct.gov.uk site, but the page which appears to endorse 'The Financial Academy' is not known to the genuine Careers Advice Service.

    The full link is:
    http://www10.learndirect-advice-search.co.uk/ ... ffiliateID=0&z=

If this is a genuine opportunity, then this large group of companies must be churning-out thousands of newly-qualified Financial and Mortgage Advisors each month, and within a very short space of time, not only completely resolve the current financial crisis, but bring about an end to un-employment across the globe!

I am trying to research this scam however i am simply coming across blod of people who do not seem to have gone past the consultation stages.

I am really looking for some websites which will name the financial training academy and tell me exactly what it does in order to scam people out of their money.

I want to gather all of the relevent information on this company before I go any further with my consultation.

I am appalled to learn that a gentleman I have been assisting to find work was contacted by this company.

This practice is under hand, raises false hope and expectations and is costly!

I would strongly advise anyone contacted by them not to part with their money.

i was contacted friday by a amy paul saying that she had jobs involving i.t. i thought i hadnt got training or nothing so why would i get a job like that. anyways i went along monday morning for the interview at lonsdale house in birmingham. when i got there she told me i had to go on a 50day course which would supply me with everything i need to know with i.t. but i had to open a student loan because i would of had to pay for the courses. but she told me i wouldnt have to start payin back until 6months after the start date. the courses al together would cost me nearly grand. payin back over 300 amonth but she assured me that i would get a job paying between 18000-24000 a year. however she said i would start the course monday which a week away. thats abit soon and especially not giving me anything to do with the course. if i came across this before i went i woudlnt of gone. but i wont be attendin the courses. im just greatful i asked people about it or i proberly would of started the course and lost alot of money.

I got a call on thursday about a possible job opportunity, they'd gotten my c.v from Totaljobs. A lady called sophie asked me to come in on friday.
I went to the Old Jewry offices in London and sat around with a handful of others.
i was led onto an office floor riddled with laptops and and jammed together chairs.   The placed was staffed almost entirely by very young(thin) pretty women all under 25, first i thought maybe this was the assistant's pool of desks and i was going through to the back of the building where the interviews were to be held.
    But i was wrong,
I was seated and interviewed by a teenage girl in a t shirt with a black binder full of printouts of possible jobs that would eventually be available if i signed on for a 30 day full time course.
And then it all made sense and i could feel the inevitable "and it will only cost you £4000, and when you complete the full three stages of the course you'll recieve £1700 back but if thats not feasible we'll organise a loan through Barclays for you who will pay your fees and give you a six month respite until they start charging you £300 a month at 15%"
The whole things a scam everything from the name on the door to the teenage blond's manning the desks.
I'm sure its all inside the confines of legality but that doesnt make it right for this kind of operation  deliberately making a play on people who are in dire need of real opportunities
and besides if you had that that kind of money lying around you wouldnt eagerly hand it over to this shoddily run backstreet hack job.

I am in the same position as alot of you guys. I have just graduated, been contacted and I have attended the interview in the london office in Jewry Lane and was thinking the same about the pretty good looking girls being used as gimmicks to con people.

I really dont know what to make of it. I'd like to hear it was a scam off of people who have actually done the training and been fruitless in getting a job after? I did notice the waiting room was packed with alot of people which put me off. I am being pulled into the IT packages they offer, like MCSE and Cicso certified etc with gurantee of job £30k+. My main prob is they are rushing the training too much. These qualifications are ment to be for professionals earnt accross a longer time and that even if it was true they are putting people in positons they are not truelly qualified with experience for.

Another issue is I failed a credit check and they have suggest the work around is use other peoples details but put your own bank details in. This to me is very shifty and is basically fraud. The opportunity is great and someone must have done the course now being only 50 days and they've been operating for  a few years now. I havnt heard of ANYONE saying they have done the course and had bad words to say on any forums about them. I'm gonna ask to speak with someone who's done the course tommoro.

WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO'S DONE THE COURSE. email punkemo@gmail.com
