Daily unwanted calls despite being ex directory and being registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

when I answered they hung up.  This is not the first time i have had this so i came straight here to see if this number appeared on this site.  Sadly someone gets paid far too much to play these sad little pranks.  Must now return to my unwell child.  Not impressed Mr&Mrs Hang-up - I assume you read these pages.

No-one there when answered call, automated exchange message stating "the other person has cleared"

I had a call from this number, didn't get to the phone in time, hung up after about 7 rings.  Then... about 4 - 5 minutes later got a call from 0192 369 4600 - which is another number appearing on this site, so there's every likelihood these 2 numbers are from the same company.

I do know in the past Sky television have made these calls to check our line or something.. so it could be them.

Had a call from this number. They knew my name, number (which is ex directory)and that I had had a minor accident. They could specify what type of accident.They said I was eligible to make a claim which they would organise for me. They could/would not explain how they had come by this information despite being asked by me several times. At this point I terminated the call.

Wanted me to renew Satellite TV subscription. Don't even ave satellite. Kept them talking for 20 minutes :)

I was called from this number, as soon as I answered they hung up. I called it back but it sounded like a foriegn ring tone so I hung up.
Could be a premium rate scam so don't answer

4 times they have called this morning, this is a shop, so someone has to stop work to answer it. Tried to ring it back, rang 4 times then went dead.

Just had a call from this number.  I tried to call back as well.  If these pranksters do read these pages I can't belive someone somewhere would enjoy doing this sort of stuff.  But little things please little minds.  Maybe they can't help being so sad.  It could be medical.  Ahhh Bless

this no. phoned my mobile and asked for me using my surname asked if i had been in an accident in he last 3 years or anyone else in the house said they were a legal company when i said no the y put the phone down how do they get private nos.

They called @ 18:30 tonight, but rang off as soon as the AnswerMachine cut in.

why call and hang up find something better to amuse yourself with

This number rang my mobile, no idea ho they got my number, so i pretended i was my mother and they proceeded to try nd charm me and asked about an accident i had been involved in offering me no less than £1500 for compensation but for this i would have had to lie, i told him i had not claimed due to having no injuries, he said well you would just have to say that you suffered whiplash and had been taking pain killers.  They said they would ring back tomorrow to talk to me but after reading this i wont bother.

I have been plagued by calls from this number.

They are a firm of "Ambulance Chasers" who i think are called "Claims Assist".

just tell them, as I did, the number is registered with TPS, you don't take unsolicited calls and "foxtrot oscar"!!!!!!!!!!

They rang my mobile as well about accident claim in last 3 years, and this is suppose to be from a life style questionaire which 'someone in your household has filled in' and has inserted my mobile tel as contact I suppose(!!!!). Told them to take me off their database,....... fingers crossed!

Working from home today and this number has called me twice now - every time I answered there was nobody there. I called back using 1471 and it rang a couple of times and then disconnected.  How annoying!!!!

This number has been calling my mobil for a few weeks now, every time I have answered they have hung up, I tried calling them back to see who it was....It rang and then a tune came on (one of them on hold tunes)
I ended up hanging up, I found that the 0151 number is: Number 0151 290 1677 is potentially valid.

Oftel records show that numbers starting 0151 290 are allocated to Telewest Communications Plc. Note that due to number portability if an individual number has moved to a different operator this information is not publically available. Oftel's last recorded change for this number range was in June 2000.

My wife got a call from this number this evening telling her that they had a cheque for her for £75 from a credit card fraud.
They then asked her if she had a credit card.
If it was genuine, they would surely have known, so she hung up.
I tried ringing them when I got home but they didn't answer

Just had about the 5th call from this number same as the rest they just hang up when I answer, interesting to hear comments about accidents my wife had a car crash the other week and so I guess they are trying to contact her then hang up when they hear a male voice.  I will get the misses to answer next time and report on the outcome.
