I just had a call from the 01512901678 number, thankfully it was regarding a false name i gave to try and get a better quote so i said i never knew that person.

however it is against AFCOM regulations for them to hang up on clients (i work for a call centre sadly) and if enough people complain they get severely reprimanded and fined... so maybe we should take this stance if there another 20 comments made by the 10th june 08!!!!

I've had a few calls in the last couple of days from unknown numbers, some I've missed, others I've answered only to get a beep and then nothing, so I've assumed they are the auto diallers and I didn't get an operator. Then I got a call from this number this afternoon. The woman asked for me by name and then quoted the web address, which I had to get her to repeat at least twice, but I would still never managed to understand exactly what it was. She then said she was from the legal department, but not to worry, it's nothing bad and asked me about an accident, was it within the last 3 years and was it fault or non fault. I've never used Moneysupermarket.com, or confused.com, but I have used one or two direct online quote forms of well known companies, always asking for information not to be passed on. I have recently had dealings with a new insurance company. I'm hoping they aren't selling on my details, or worse, that this company has access to any information passed between insurance companies supposedly to combat fraud or check information. I'd imagine an unscrupulous company could pose as a motor insurance broker etc and access information, it would be interesting to know what restrictions and safe guards are in place.

Oh, and I meant to add I tried ringing them back, as once I'd had time to think about it I had some questions for them, and to find out who they were, as they caught me while I was busy. It will connect, but cuts off after about 3 seconds, with no ring tone or noise.

If they ring me again, at least I'm prepared with the knowledge from here, it's a shame I wasn't infront of a computer at the time to google it!

Yes, received same as everyone else - the caller said the name of the company far too quickly and I still couldnt decipher it when he repeated it.  Asked the same question about an accident in last 3 years and was quite quick to get off the phone when I said the information was incorrect.  I called the number back and got an international ring that answered with music immediately.  Seems like a scam and I am wondering if it was simply to confirm name with mobile number ?

I had a missed call from this number about half an hour ago.  i didnt know who it could be so i called it back from my work phone and a man with a Liverpool accent answered and just said "Hello..." - when i didnt speak, he hung up!! very strange...

This number rang asking for my 19 year old son on my mobile number (not his, which is odd as he gives his number as a contact). I said that the number wasn't one for the person they were asking for and they rang off. Reading other postings I'm guessing that a contact list has been bought from an insurance company (egg? - that's our motor ins co) and my son has had vehicle accidents, but the policy has me as the main policy holder - hence them asking for son using my mobile number.

yeah got a call from this number on my mobile on Tuesday - like everyone else some woman introduced herself from some company too quickly to make out what she said! Said something about some accident claim on an insurance renewal form I completed through a comparison website and wanted to know if I wanted to claim compensation from it so I asked her "why would I want to do that?"! She got quite flustered in trying to convince me as I kept asking the same question! In the end I just told her that I wasn't interested and hung up. Put a smile on my face!

I have had several calls from these people on my mobile but missed them all, this must be a new age scam.

I happin to work at seeus2save.com, and i do appreciate people getting peaved off at getting numerous calls from us but there was a problem with our automated system as it would not delete the numbers off the data base when we had contacted them, for this i can only apologise. But we are not ambulance chasers we provide people with a service that is required, just because you may not need our help dosent mean that the next person wont. We all speak to every call in a polite and professional manner, its a shame that not everyone can speak to us in the same way.
