Called at 1407 on 18.03.08. No message left on answer machine

Numerous calls over many days. Never a message left. Have looked into the company and they seem to be some kind of insurance company? Would love to know how they got my number? It isn't listed!

This number has called several times, at least once a day, for the past week. As I do not recognise it, I do not answer. However, it is a nuisance and I would like it stopped.

Definitely Affinion International trying to offer an ID Fraud protection policy.

This number has called at least once a day for the last week; even on Sunday. I haven't answered but when I tried ringing back there has been no answer. Very annoying.

What's the legal situation surrouding me using their number of various web sites that require a phone number at registration "for marketing purposes" so that the numbers of the companies that cold call are the targets for other numbers that cold call?

It's been driving me nuts too, as I am also ex-directory, but having read others comments, I may have an answer. I had a call the other day from a company whose name I have now forgotten (but Affinion rings bells) offering me ID fraud protection, but I didn't think to check the number after I'd put the phone down. The woman mentioned that she had my number because I have a Debenhams store card. So, if it's them, this may be why they have your number.

Same here. They called last week and I said no thanks, but they have called every day since Friday.

also a debs card holder. this is always the last callers number when I get home. Not sure how many times they call. have spoke to someone once and told them it was of no use to me. This appears to be part of a big drive to get you to pay for something that appears to be a good idea but only they benefit / profit.

I have a Debenhams card and i'm getting calls from this number too. Registeres on answer phone but no message.

They just dont stop the pricks! I have left a message asking them not to contact me again, if it carries on I will speak to BT and try and get the number barred or something!
