I think they were trying to con me into changing mobile provider - they called me yesterday claiming to be from my provider offering me a fantastic deal because I 'was due an upgrade'.  The young lad could hardly string a sentence together and didn't have a clue about my contract or usage and he eventually got bored and put the phone down when he realised I had no intention of answering his questions.

Another call today - have had various 01792 and 0161 scammers phoning. No mesage left, this is another scam and yet another number blocked with AVG on Android Phone. Almost at the stage where only those in my phonebook will be allowed to call...

Reeks of scam and not even a mildly clever one. Claims to be calling on behalf of service providor. Yet when asked by me to answer a few questions for security purposes to verify he was calling from or on behalf of my network. He was not even sure of number he was calling has no knowledge of my name or location or the phone package I am on.

You just don,t seem to get the same class of conmen you used to. The kids today just work on a basis of throw enough s**t at the wall and some will stick

I am getting repeated calls from this number on a daily basis and when I try to call them back I get the engaged tone all the time.  I no longer wish to be contacted by this company.

This person keeps calling but when I answer...nothing..Want to meet these people..

Easiest way to get rid of them is to listen to everything they say but tell them that the call is being recorded for security purposes and that your tracker system is locating the callers exact location.

Had 3 silent calls from this number so far, first one 18th April 2013.  Number is registered with TPS bvut as it's just silent calls so far they won't deal with it.  I've reported the number to Ofcom, suggest others do the same.

I've also emailed the details to my MP (John Hemming) as he campaigned against silent calls from automatic dialers a while back.

Had my first silent call on my mobile from 01612127801 today, never waited long enough to hear the previously reported automated "goodbye" before being cut off which was experienced by some people, just cut off the call after 2-3 seconds when no-one replied, hopefully they won't call back.

I keep getting calls from this number, I have them diverted to an old PAYG phone that is in a draw somewhere LOL!!!

Call claiming to offer a better deal with my mobile provider - constant drip of drying to extract more information, but when challenged he ended the call.

This number has rung me three times in the past 24 hours - and no sound when I pick up.  When I ring back it appears to be a number unobtainable??

These people have rung me so many times it is now harassment.
Despite the fact that I repeatedly ask them to stop and remove my number from their database the calls keep coming!

Just had a call from this number, the guy asked for me by name, he said he was from a company called versatile and that he was NOT trying to sell me anything, at which point I said of course you are or what would be the purpose of you calling me ?, he said no I'm really not at which point  I laughed and said ok then carry on, then either I lost my signal or he hung up, so no idea what he was trying to sell or what the scam is, it really scares me that this company knew my name so are clearly getting info from somewhere I'm very carefull not to give my number to anyone or on online forms etc, I usually tell callers like this that I'm registered with TPS that usually makes them hang up, I luv the idea of telling them I'm recording the call will be trying that one, I've had so many of these calls I've learnt not to get annoyed anymore and now enjoy messing with them,  waisting their time and seeing the different ways to get them to hang up, it's funny coz since doing this the calls do seem to be getting less

This number called me today, some really chavvy gangsta kid trying to save me money by upgrading my phone, I repeatedly said "que?!" until he hung up.

Tip: if you're going to perform a scam, don't employ an uneducated chav to make the phone calls.

Getting daily calls from 0161 numbers this one in particular !  How do we report them!

KEEP CALLING--NEVER TALK  JUST GOES DEAD  TIME WASTERS

I got a call on my mobile from a professional and fluent young woman telling me she was calling from my phone provider to discuss a cheaper tariff as I had been with them a long time. At first I thought it might be genuine as I had recently called my provider about an upgrade, but when she launched straight into security questions I asked how I knew she was bona fide. She told me I could call back if I wanted, I checked here first and then called the number which seemed unobtainable

Keep getting calls from 01612127801, was going to ring back but after reading your messages will be ignoring them

Yet another call from them   said would they please delete my number and the phone went dead  SCAMMERS
