nuisance cold calling, set off by entering details I think on confused.com including an accident from a few years ago which they are ambulance chasing on, really, really persistent several calls in one day and won't stop callling even when my wife got really angry

I've just rung the number back and I got an automated voice giving me the option of removing my number from their list. Whether it works or not.....
They've silent called me three times in the last hour.

Suggest  anyone hassled by this caller use Marigold's link -- I have   and I have pasted it into an email sent to all my contacts asking them to subscribe to the petition and to forward the email and link to all their contacts.   If we all did this it could well go viral before the end date of the petition. Below is the email I sent

Have been recieving calls from the number multiple time a day for a number of weeks.
Turn out to be "Camellion Insurance Services."
As they are trying to speak to my wife they will not discuss the matter with me - Data Protection.
Hang On - Data Protection, who's given my number to them?  Where's the Data Protection there?
Told the "agent" to remove our details forewith..

almost every day i get 01612494490 call me, even after blocking this number in my idect phone... it hasnt deterred them, still annoys the hell out of me as i get one ring before the block kicks in. think maybe its time to change my landline number. if it is from using confused/compare websites` i wish I hadnt of now` as they arent competative anyway, and the prices quoted are always with a high excess and basic cover... just shows you gotta be careful online giving details...

I received a call from this number this morning relating to a car accident that I had in June 2010.  The caller seemed to know a lot about the incident and seemed genuine but I was wary as he started to talk about personal injury and compensation.  I told him that I was not interested and hung up.

Its Chameleon Insurance service. "courtesy call" indeed. Ask for Sarah. Said "i'm not tryin to sell you nothing" bloody pests.

Just had a phone call from these. The guy was quite honest, he said that they got my number from an online insurance search. So presumably when i used confused or money supermarket. They passed my information onto insurers and then one of those insurers has shared it.  By no means am i blaming money supermarket or confused but least i know how they are getting it now.

this number calls 2 to 3 times daily for approx 5 seconds and line disconnected when I pick up phone

Have phoned my insurance company and I did make a claim then, but there was no-one else involved - I parked on ice on my parent's drive and the car slid down a slope (along a steel fence) so passenger side needed a re-spray.
My insurance company suggested it's the body shop that's passed the details on

I'm the owner of a fairly obvious phone number - it has lots of zeros in it - and I get calls from these people up to 15 times a day.  From what I can tell, it's from enquiries people have made on confused.com - the website forces people to type in a phone number and then sells their details on to telemarketers.  Nice business model, eh?

Anyway, it's not the fault of the poor folks who are actually calling - the number is auto-dialled by a computer.  They are always quite pleasant when I explain the situation and promise to remove me from the system, but it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference because one of their colleagues will call back in a few minutes asking for a different name.

It's been happening for years.  I can't stop it.  I keep my phone switched off now.

I have been getting these calls from this number for over 2 weeks now. I have called it and added my mobile number to no call list. So i don't continue to get these calls i have added the number to the call reject list on my mobile to stop the calls coming through also.

Hi I have only recently given the number a call thinking that it would stop if i kept ignoring it but it hasn't worked, had another call from them this morning. I have now added my number to there no call list but got a feeling that this won't work. Anyway, i have added the number to my reject call list on my phone so hopefully from now on i won't get any further calls.

Do not contact them yourself register at http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html it will take about 28days if you can; block their number on your mobile/landline. keep their numbers and report them to Information Commissioners office after the 28 days are up thet will take up the case if you are still getting calls

Got a callvfrom this number and a lady said hi and terminated the call.Rang back and it turned out cuts some phone company  I had no business with and I immediately cancelled the call.

Claiming to be from Van Compare saying I have not renewed due to a claim. Did not renew and DID NOT CLAIM

I get this number ringing several times a day and also 0161 495 3899

I've asked them to remove me from their list but they still ring.

Hung up when answered, has rung a number of times.
