Ive had a number of missed calls as well and answered with no answer on the other end... anyone know if they are charging some rediculous amount of money for picking up the phone? Anyone check their bill lately?

Four times today from the 0161 number!!! Followed Johnathon's advice and called them on 0845 6881233, woman was very polite and said I would be removed from the database immediately.

Seems that in this case its best to be nice!!!!

This number has called me up to two times a day for the last 2/3 days. I miss the call everytime but when i ring back it only rings once and then cuts off. I got their answer machine once and left a message with my name and mobile number. They must have got it because they rang me again twice today, each time i missed their call. It is really annoying and there is no way of finding out who it achually is!!

just had 01612494491 ring me asking about an accident i had in 05.... no such accident... it seems they are getting their info from online insurence quotes ppl fill in, It looks like they want you to employ/instruct them to recover any no fault losses you may have incurred from the accident they were informed about.... m

Started getting these calls recently.  

Called the 0845 number mentioned in other posts and asked to get my name removed from the database.  Asked why I was being called if i am registered with TPS.  They said that they were calling on behalf of someone else, most likely a motor insurer who had given me a quote recently.  I used moneysupermarket, confused and a couple of others when I renewed my insurance last month, so had many quotes.  

They were very friendly and offered to find out who they were calling on behalf of (I declined this offer - didn't want to appear willing to accept further calls).

Let's see if it works...

Scam Scam Scam!!! Why is the world full of rubbish nowadays!!!! Tell you wits about you!!!

Get continous calls from this number, its been going on now for about 7 weeks constantly, they ring both mobile and landline but never any conversation justs rings off, i think they may get telephone numbers from insurance sites on the internet.
This is most annoying and there should be some form of complaining to stop this continuing.

Had a call from this number and it turns out to be "ecar insurance". I don't believe that as I have never had insurance out with ecar...ever. Tried to get hold of ecar but only through email, so I didn't bother. The guy I think called Tom was such a rude w**ker, I told him I have never insurance with ecar, before I even finished saying that he hung up very quickly. It might be some sales scam or something on commission. I believe it is a scam. Don't pick up any calls from this number

I got the call just now, saying i've had an accident which never happened and I kept telling the woman I never had such accident and she basically called me a liar. I've just called them on 0845 6881233 and spoke to a woman called Natalie... she told me they are called Cameleon telesales and they call people on behalf of insurance companies. She told me that the call to me was placed on behalf of ecar.co.uk. I've never actually used ecar.co.uk!!!!
I told them to remove all of my details asap! wan*#rs!!!

The caller called my mobile claiming that a vehicle that I own was in an accident last year. I only got the vehicle Pre registered this year. The dealer that I got it from doesn't know anything about it. The person calling hung up when I started asking questions. No answer when calling back. Dodgy?? Any info gratefully rec'd

Have had 3 calls today, 2 calls on Monday.. They let it ring till you answer then cut you off.. (strange someone has ran into my car) No idea who this is but I'm about to report it to my phone provider to block the number.. May even report it to the Police as my number is very private!

Many missed calls. This time someone actually spoke to me!!! WOW!!! The company is 'Action Legal Group'. They knew who my insurer is and when i had an accident. They claim they are trying to claim compensation for me. Think it's a scam. I even told the bloke that his number came up on google as a scam but he denied it. Bloody poo pirate!!!

Had a call from this shower today, they said they were from "esure" and they asked for me to confirm my name and my postcode for "data protection purposes" which I refused to do.

I asked what the call was about but they refused to tell me unless I confirmed who I was and what my postcode was, to which I refused again and they hung up.

Loads of missed calls and when I do answer it hangs up. If I try to call back I get 1 ring then it goes dead. Getting this EVERY afternoon and really fed up with it. If I ever get to speak to them they'll know exactly how I feel!!!
