I have had about 20 calls so far this has to be the most annoying number to ever call me i am sick of it ringing and then hanging up why dont they stop.

Just had a call - hung up as soon as I answered, reading this thread I won't be calling back!

This is a company following up leads from insurance databases, and I'm getting really annoyed with them now - they've been phoning my home phone number and not leaving a message, and also my mobile number every single day (Mon-Fri) and don't leave a message on there. I've answered the phone several times, and they say that they are calling in connection to a vehicle accident I had 2 years ago, and want to know if I have any lasting injuries which I want to try and make a claim for against the 3rd party. I was never injured as a result of any accident in my vehicle so I can't believe the amount of hassle I am getting from them.

Seriously - if anyone else has had the same experience as me, get it noted down on this forum for others to read. I don't know where they have got my details from (presumably the insurance company I've used have sold it on) but I think this is totally out of order, especially when I've told them to give it a rest and turned down their scam.

Try not speaking when you pick up the phone. I tried and it connected me to a body after about 10s. Could be coincidence but after weeks of calls from these people they finally spoke to me.

I told them never to phone me again. He offered to hang up but said someone else would phone again. I had to listen to him to stop future calls. They are offering lots and lots of money after an accident - Ambulance chasing. Told him to go away.

I have been recieving numerous hang up phone calls from this number over the past couple of weeks. We are a bus depot, could this be a company trying to contact us?

Had missed calls from this number nearly everyday for two weeks eventually answered and they were teling me about a loan I had and all the details saying that they could save me money and all this stuff, tried calling back same thing Amercian type overseas ring tone rang about four times then line went dead!

Exact same thing happened to me!!!!!

Received call from 01612494491 @ 12.41pm, 24/04/2008, answered they hung up called back American /International ring tone on a Manchester Area Code 0161.... How very ODD!  But no one answered.

Just missed a call from them, but having read this, I won't be attempting to call them back!

Missed a call from them about 5 minutes ago - now I've read this if I get a voice next time they phone will tell them to F*ck off!

Just received call from them inquiring about an accident. I think they are looking to make claims for insurance personal injury claims.

called my mobile thought it was someone from our manchester office, phoned back , american style ring tone then no one answers just goes blank and probably got charged for it!!!

it's a personal injury company, missed my call but phoned back and left a message. took about an hour to ring me back. Related to an accident I'd had so now going to see if I can claim with their help.

left message, and they rang back.  Leave a message it's worth it if you suffered an accident

This number has been trying to ring me for 2 days. I missed both calls and the phone just rang and then cut off when I tried to phone back. Answered them on the third time and they knew my name. They asked if the could speak to me but would not tell me who they were. I refused to confirm whether it was me until I had been told who they were. They refused so I hung up

Mmm! had these err, bum holes ring twice, yesterday (28/4/08 and about 1/2 hr ago (12:06pm-29/4/08)..Was annoying yesterday as I was in Manchester waiting for a call from a pal so I rang the missed call (0161 2494 491) and got the american style tone and was cut off before they answered. Wont bother ringin em back this time..

PS. From what I can gather, when you dial this number (01612494491) you are being charged as soon as you hit the dial button...Beware!

I have received two phone calls everytime it hangs up. I got to ring back and have an different dial tone. Strange!!

This number always calls and hangs up when I answer.  When I callback it never answers either. Does anyone know who it is?

Answered the caller (01612494491) and they reckoned they where calling on behalf of my motor insurance company, about an accident a couple of yrs ago. They had pretty much all my details, but I would not give any to them, not even to verify my name. When I asked who they where they had all the correct insurance company details but, when I contacted my insurance company about the caller, they knew nothing about them, and are investigating who the caller is, and warned me NOT to give ANY details over the phone.
