I had a call from this number today, everytime I pick up they don't day anything, and everytime I call back there's no answer

thanks everyone. didn't recognize the number (missed call) so I googled it and found this site. who deals with this sort of thing? do you give it to the police or what?

I have had two calls this month.
About two weeks ago when I rang back they did answer, they said they wanted to know if I accepted liability for rolling from a standstill into the back of another car two years ago!
They have just called again now, but when I tried to ring back, it was the American dial tone, the dial tone stopped after 10 seconds, then at 28 seconds they cut off the line with no answer.

What a nuisance! Like most I google'd this number to find out which Manchester company would be calling me...

I want to know where they got my number from as I hardly ever give it out...

Are they a ligitimate claims company?

I had "the Call" today and the woman knew my Name and License plate number but nothing else. She could barely remember what company she was calling from when I asked her. I had an accident in 2007 which my policy was claimed against. She didnt know what my insurance was, where the accident was, how much the claim was or any of my other details (address, date of birth etc).. Ive contacted my insurance company to find out if my information is passed onto "Action Legal" as she stated the company was called, so when they contact me me, ill update this  bulletin.  In the meantime, i suggest nobody gives any information and always check that the person you first speak to tells you the company they are calling from. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM!

iv had about 5 miss calls off this number, missed 4 of them answered d 5th n they just hung! i did have an accident in my car last yr, the car was a right off but i wasn't injured. I haven't tried ringing back so thank you to all those who have put posts on here as i know now not to bother.

01612494491 and 01614914333 have called me twice every weekday for the last 6 - 7 weeks. The numbers are on the missed calls register every evening. I've called back twice, got the same foreign ringtone but never any answer. It's getting a little tedious now!

seems this company spits out many names to the people it call, but it seems they are quite possibly Chameleon Telesales Ltd in Stockport.

2 times a day, for the last 4 days. getting bloody annoying.

i has a call from 01612494491. I have had an insurance claim, thay asked to speak to me, i said it was me - they hung up.

I recently had a call from this number referencing "an accident" that I had had earlier in the year. Caller said that they wanted to check everything had been solved to my satisfaction. I said "what accident" (as I hadn't had one). They had my car details and a date. In fact it was my wife driving when our car was hit by another. When I asked what company he was calling from the caller said he was from "Action Legal" and that they "worked alongside" the insurance company to ensure everything os OK after the accident. I just said it was OK (which it was) and he lost interest. But even if it wasn't I wouldn't have divulged any information. I have no idea where he got my mobile number unless he has access to the insurance company database. Nor have I heard of Action Legal.

I'm pretty sure this crowd gets the details from online insurance applications.  Or telephone applications.

I missed the call this time, but it might be "trading floor" who always call on the same guise either selling insurance or trying to pursue a claim.

Received a call from this number, phoned back and it sounded suspicious, Googled it and read that this could be a scam? Telephoned BT, they assured me this is a land line number, therefore is only allowed to charge standard rate?

the same phonecall, asked to confirm my name and hung up. noughty.

standard scumbags. injury lawyers or some kind of shady set up no doubt.

Got two calls from this number, had a read through the comments and I would safley assume a common company we use is Avoiding the Data Protection act, and passing along our information to Third Parties.

The company on this line called my Mothers number (Dont know how they got that from) Told her I was involved in a car accident and wanted to discuss what happened. That did not go down well. Got a frantic call from her shortly after asking if I were ok. The number then tried me on my mobile twice.
