If I answer this number calling me I get nothing, and if I call it back I get an answer but nothing else.  They call me at least 3 times a day.  How can I stop it?

I received a call from this number today. I suspect my number has been sold on from an insurance company and they have sourced information from the insurance website and use that to try and get people to file law suits in relation to those claims.

I think this sucks and has to be against the Data protection act

Try reporting it to any of these, if they get enough they will act upon it.

this appeared on my mobile today. i called back but no response. this is a fraud call.

ID number as  0161 249 4491 . Someform of insurance follow up caller, bur won't give details. 6 calls in 4 days. Who ever you are, you're a pain where the sun does not shine, please go and work for a proper company, not the unscrupulous lot you work for, (perhaps though you get a buzz out of it - sad - go and get a life).

I keep getting calls from this number on my mobile.
when I answer they hang up and when I call them back it rings once and goes quiet. Not at all happy as I am on holiday and the roaming charge is high and I have to pay for these damned calls.?

Had a call today 26-june-2008 asking about a car accident that was not my fault within the last two years
Had no idea what she was talking about, scottish sounding lady.

If you answer it takes about 20 secs for the message to kick in. It says something along the lines of "we rang earlier to talk about an insurance claim you made please call back on this number (it's different to the number they ring from)". I'm guessing that outbound calls they make are all from an automated system

I got one today on this (and have been for weeks). they are looking to try get people who have had car injuries reported. Had my name, address and phone number...and pushed very hard about back injuries in a car crash. Coincidently, I was hit by a taxi dirver in Oct 2006...so will keep an eye on this one and see what it says. According to 'Mike' the company is called 'Action Legal' from Manchester

Had a call for someone in the house and i think they said they were calling from Action Legal? can not find them on google.

They've called me every day for the last month - I used to answer and their was nobody there. Now I just hit 'busy' and cut them off. They still call back the next day. Am going to see if my mobile company can block the number.

Has anyone had car insurance through DialDirect?  An awful company to deal with and I wonder if they passed on contact details (for money)? I also reported a claim through them (my only claim ever) so this suggests they might be involved somehow.....

Somebody said if you stay quiet for ten seconds it transfers you through to a human being. They're right it works. Stay quiet for a few seconds then theres a click and a human being answers, with an british accent. I didn't bother to try and find out who they were, i just gave them the silent treatment, with the girl going hello, hello after a while they hang up, my advise to everybody out there do this and lets see how they like it.  Good luck.

Is there not some governing body that can stop these calls?  I am recieving between 2 and 6 calls everyday. I have tried that silent treatment, the ranting technique, breathing heavy(haha) and just cutting them off. As soon as I answer they just hang up.  I'm a bit worried about when asnwering these phone calls I will end up paying on my phone bill.

Same result when calling back - international dial tone, on;y rings once with no answer.

I have been getting these calls for over a month (about 3 a day) I did answer once and someone asked me about an insurance claim I didn't have a clue what they were talking about and told them to stop calling me.  She said I would be removed, I then joined the register to stop unwanted calls and haven't heard from them in about 2 weeks.  Have had 3 missed calls today! VERY ANNOYING!!!!! Really Really sick of this company whoever they are.

I'm wondering if this number is linked to confused / moneysupermarket etc as I have been doing insurance quotes online with each of these.
What part of untickign the contact by phone box do these companies not understand.  I do quotes online to avoid talking to these people - but then they don't talk anyway!!!
Anyone found a way pf stopping these calls, as been having them for approx a month now - really annoying as always during work hours.
