Mobile Phone Upgrade Call

someone called said they were from electricity company asked if my number was a business or residential number then hung up! you cant call the number back.

Had a missed call on my mobile. Tried calling back but doesn't seem to allow incoming calls as it cuts me off!

Got a call from this lot saying they were from 3 mobile (my company) and that they wanted to check my details. They took my name and postcode and Date of Birth.

Called me, and said they were from 3, and wanted to discuss the renewal of my contract. Immediately told them that it was already renewed with them about 2 months ago. Woman ended call rather quickly. Googled number and found this. Have now stored number as "Scam Number" in contacts! :-)

Called saying they were from 3, also regarding a renewal upgrade.  Against my better judgement, I gave my details to them.  Any recommendations on what to do now?

Called this morning about 9:30 claiming to be from '3' about upgrading my phone...told them that my phone had only recently been upgraded - the woman said that she would speak to customer services for me(!) and call me back within the hour! Nothing as yet...

I have had about six calls from 0161 2738177 the last one they asked who my electric supply is with and then immediately put the phone down on me. If you call the number back it is engaged or not available!

This number rang me then hung up no idea who it was.

Had a couple of missed calls from 0161 273 8177 recently, but then received our lastest call (18 April 08) and managed to answer it.

Suprisingly, this female wanted to take a meter reading of our business electricity, but I asked why they were doing a phone reading when this is normally a visit by the supplier. I asked if she could tell me who she was and she said they were a logging centre on behalf of all the suppliers. I asked her to verify who our supplier was when she said 'I don't know until I get your reading'. I said, 'well I need to know who you really are and I am not giving out that information', at which point she hung up!

Rang me today @ noon, saying she is from three network and that i Can upgrade my phone (I had it upgraded 2 months ago from phones4u). I've asked again if she is deffinitely from three network she said yes, when i said i had my contract extended 2 months ago with phones4u she said i'm still ok to get a new phone. What a bargain I thougt or what a mess they have (phones4u vs three network). I've given her my details, and didn't get back from them after that. What a stupid person I am....

Got a missed call from this number.

They claim to be Three upgrade centre, part of the Three company & were trying to flog me an upgrade to my mobile. But when I asked if I could call them back via the Three switchboard they got a bit shirty. Plus they could not tell me any of my details allegedly because of the data protection act. Not very plausible.

Missed call today at 10:16am. tried ringing back but number doesn't connect

Had a few calls from this number asking whether my electricity supply is residential or commercial I told her it was residential. Then tried to ask who they were (energy uk) but hung up on me pretty quick. Going to speak to trading standards and see what they can do. Will update again soon.

Called Consumer Direct to report this company. They are passing the info onto trading standards so hopefully eventually they will get to the bottom of these annoying calls.

I missed a call on my work phone number today at 16.46
