The details of the caller id '01706833772' is; Rossendales Collect. This company has been reported to be in multiple violations of trading regulations and fraud. If you are being harrassed, or called from this number and they are stating anything but the company they are, this is constitutionally Fraud. Do not be a victim, report it to the Police, Office of Fair Trade, Office of Communication.

Debt Collection Agencies are not permitted to use means of Harrassment, Fraud or Agressive Behaviour to obtain the debt. This is called 'Monies by Menace' and is a criminal act.

In England and Wales, harrassment of people in debt by creditors or their agents is a criminal offence under the Administration of Justice Act 1970. The Act says that a person commits an offence if they do any of the following, with the intention of pressuring another person into paying a debt due under a contract:

1) Makes demands for payment which are deliberately meant to alarm, distress or humiliate you, your family or household. This includes the frequency, manner or occasion of the demand as well as any threat or publicity that accompanies it; or
2) Falsely claims that criminal proceedings will result if the debt is not paid; or
3) Falsely represent themselves to be authorised in some official capacity to claim or enforce payment; or
4) Produces any document which appears to have some official character when it does not, or makes false claims that a document has some official character wen they know it does not.

this should totally be banned. How dare people call us with improper motives!

Phone call at 11:16 am , silent call , I waited for reply. Then Answer machine saying you've been called by Rossendales collect - we'll call back later. I have had 2 of these "cold calls" now!. Annoying phone calls for no reason.

I to have had loads of calls from these. I recently had a new number and ever since these guys have been rining me. Rang them back yesterday and turn out the girl who used ot have my phone number before me owed them moneny. idiots

Just had another phone call from these con artists - I answered it this time , They were fishing for information. Beware of these people , they asked for someone else and then tried to get my name and address. Ignore these people , as they are simply Fraudsters nothing more , I am considering reporting it this time. They are definately in breach of law.

I have been called and wrote to several times by this company trying to collect a debt that has absolutely nothing to do with me. They are looking for a female that has the same initials as me and we both lived in the same town many years ago but that is it???? How absolutely ludicrous is that. I have written to them several times and returned unopened letters and I am now recieving silent calls. They have stated they will start legal proceedings if I do not pay the debt but I have told them to go ahead and see how stupid they look specially when they have to fork out a whole load of time and money to start the proceedings.

Called this morning at 9.22am.

got a call from these people today, they asked for my husband but they had been given my phone number, he wouldnt tell me what it was for and wouldnt tell me who it was that was calling, it was only from this site that i have found out that it is a debt agency. I will not be phoning them back.

been ringing all morning, started at 8;47 been ringing evry 10 or so mins since then, when you anser theres nothing there.

Loads of silent calls, normally I let my shop answer phone take the calls but this time I grabbed it quick then it cut off but I was able to get the number normally its withheld. This is a great site now I know who Im going to start harassing back.

Follow this to have some fun--press 141 followed by their number, then put your phone on secrecy and listen to them squirm!!!!

Payback time--do this if you have time and only if its free for you to call the land line numbers of course.....They may understand how frustrating it can be--The more people call them back and give THEM the silent treatment, we could put them beggars out of business.

keep getting silent phone calls lasting ages, been going on for a couple of weeks now.

7.49pm got a call from this number, just looked up the number on google and this site came up, i never answered because i never answer calls when i dont know the number. These people should be shut down after reading all the other comments on here.

These buggers woke me up at 9 oclock,  It was Rossendale Collect pretending to be from the Council.  Very shady characters.
