Got a call from them today after looking for a quote on confused.com
They just said "Hello, is that..." and then hung up.
I tried calling back, but the answer machine says the office is closed for the Bank Holiday and opens on Tuesday 27th - 2 days ago.

Also got insurance with auto direct found through a comparison website, now getting calls every day.  Rang it back and got an automated service saying the office is closed.

Used USWITCH last week and now i keep getting calls from this number and they hang up when i answer

Used confused.com yesterday trying to sort out car insurance and already had 3 calls from this number.They hang up as soon as I answer.Suspected a scam and finding this page has proven it. Get Nicky Campbell on it!!

Cheeky, cheeky I took the advice from Gareth and had my number removed from the dial system, nothing more anoying then running for your phone only for it to be crap and for them to hang up.

Rings twice then hangs up - very frustrating as it's been happening for weeks now and all i wanted was a damn quote!

Wouldn't mind so much if the actually said something!

Think it must be AutoDirect...but they keep doing the same to me...rings twice then they hang up! How annoying.

This is the address on my renewal notice with AA insurance Services.
They keep calling me to and then there is no one there. I assume they are trying to get me to renew but I've gone with someone else.

I have had repeated calls from this number since enquiring about insurance with Go Compare - do you think they get bonuses for the amount of times they get a number picked up?  If only they would leave a message or speak when I pick up, then I'd tell them I've sorted the insurance already!  Very irritating!

At least this site has shown me who was ringing though!  Thanks.

Just had a call from this number.Rang off before I could get to it. This is happenning nearly everyday at different times.

Searched for car insurance on confused .com and then satrted to get several calls each day to my mobile form this number.Caller ID on phone but cos its an unknown number I do not reply.

There is a pattern about insurance companies getting your number from these compare sites. The same thing happened last year and is happening again. I used confused.com. My phone number is registered with the telephone preference sevice but has not stopped it.

Had two calls so far from 01798 793400 after using an insurance comparison site. Phoned the number back and got a 'We called to ask you about your insurance needs' message and then it hangs up.

Received a few calls from them after doing a search for car insurance on confused.com.  Called the number given earlier in the post and asked the nice lady to remove my number from the computer.  She promised it was being doing right away! - fingers crossed (Im also on TPS - but doesnt seem to make any difference to these people).

I too am having these calls from the same number....they hang up after 2 rings.  I googled and realised am not the only one!  Am going to report the number to my mobile phone company and see what they can do!

This number called me today on my answerphone very annoying have been called by them before.

Well done all you clever people, I didn't make the connection to the car insurance websites i was on yesterday when I got my first call!!! But glad I'm not the only one. Thanks to this site, it has put me out of my misery! I have added them to my reject list on my mobile, another way to prevent anymore calls.
