- E-laineSome American bloke claimed that I have won a holiday to the bahamas. It's an automated system.
- m collinsAmazed at length of missed call number...luckily...thanks for info via other comments.
- lizzieTinny american accent, "you've won a holiday" scam.
- Caller: n/k
- Mo33edYep, it rang. I was in the bath. I jumped up, wondering who rings as this ungodly hour. Grabbed towel fast, hurtled down stairs water going everywhere, nearly killed myself negotiating the trecherous bend in the kitchen on wet feet. Stopped ringing before I got a hand to it!
Yay. - shariifiGot the call today Saturday 26-July-2008 @ 8.00am. Any idea who is calling?
- Caller: USA
- Jake09:55 this morning, Saturday 26 July too. I kept the number on the phone display long enough to google it and came straight here :)
- AlJust had the the same number call me, as soon as I heard you have been lucky to win a holiday I just hung up. Googled it and came to this web site.
- TraceyCalled me at 10.23am. Knew the number was too long to be UK. missed the cal. Googled it and came straight here.
- JayneThis number called our land line 26th July 17.35. We live in North Wales. When I answered an automated voice said "Congratulations!" & then the call disconected itself. I presume its a highly extreme premium rate number that most people would call back out of curiosity! But I googled it & came straight here. Stange thing is we are ex-directory & NEVER have telesales or nuisance calls & also have a call barring on any anyonmous numbers to prevent these from calling us too, so I have no idea what this is about other than ripping people off if they call the number back! So beware of being tempted to do this!
- NickI have 2 lines both registered with telephone preference service and within a second of eah other they started ringing with the same holiday in Florida tosh how can I stop them?
- StephanieHad exactly the same number TWICE. Some stupid woman drones on about us having "entered a competition and won a fantastic holiday" yeah, right! I never give my phone number out so how have they got it?? - And how do I stop them calling?
- North LondonGot my call this morning - ignored it and came here. Thanks to all for posting.
- North London 2Got a call just now, and decided to Google it. Surprised to see this page. Great! Now I know not to answer it.
- ginger lilyAnother boring scam. Why can't these people get proper jobs?
- john prestonjust called me at 13.25 some sherman tanker said congratulations by way of recorded message.John
- Joe- (London)I was out but the last number was 01888966632.
I have had a lot of these calls from the USA over the past many months, yet my number is NOT listed!!
I am also on 2 official lists that are supposed to prevent such calls!!
Joe - KateHad a missed call when arrived home from work - unusal as it was obviously international but my phone usually states "International" and didn't so was very curious, tempted to ring back but thought google first and got this page - how do they get your number??? i never give mine out, am ex directory what the hell. Have been getting quite a few international calls laterly sick of these bloody scams.
- MikeyGGot the second of these calls today - the first was a month ago - my answering machine took both calls as I was out. Am ex-d and TPS registered - but TPS only covers UK companies, so no point in letting them know about this outfit - whoever they are. My guess is they are just dialling random numbers and hoping some sucker will take them up on their fantastic offers. I'm going to ask BT if their "Choose To Refuse" service (imho a bit of a rip at £3.35 pcm) will prevent the call from getting through. The fact the answering machine took both calls means my number is 'live' so they will probably keep it on record and keep on trying.
- Caller: Not Known
- FreddieJWe got our call st 0912 this morning. Answering machine took it. Nothing to add to the above, except to reissue the warning already given. DON'T ring back it could be a PREMIUM NUMBER and cost you a fortune. International Premium Numbers may not carry the same limits as the UK. Thank goodness for this site!
- Caller: n/k
- AVHSaturday 11.45 "You have already won a holiday" call. I get these every week. What is the point of the TPS if it's so easy to ignore it and fake local dialing codes (in this case from Aberdeen)?
