TPS should also be mentioned if it's a cold call - it usually stops them straightwaway.

I received a call from 01924 587 000 today at 15.10.  Tried to call back and i got this message: "We tried to contact you today regarding your insurance policy, sorry you missed our call.  We will try call back again later"

Who is behind the calls????

Had a missed call, have just got car insurance through Direct Choice (who people have mentioned above) so must be them

Dont think its dodgy like other posts.I have just renewed car insurance with direct choice aswell and it is one of their numbers.

I got a few calls from this number - Ihave recently bought a car and am guessing that it might be as a result of that. The code is in Yorkshire somewhere so am guessing that it the AA or Halifax trying to sell something to me or it is a way of finding numbers to sell to companies for marketing..IE if you answer you will probably get lots of marketing calls.

three hours after a call from this no my credit card got used fraudently for £1300 as they had my details on their computer and i confirmed my name it seems supicous if any one else has had this problem please report here ps (they tried to sell me a warranty on a vehicle )

This number called me 11.39am, did not answer. Found this site and sounds like some people are confirming that they have correct personal details about you. Kinda social engineering, never ever confirm your name or any detail unless you asked someone to call you back and make sure you ask the questions not them. There is enough personal info in Phonebooks and Inernet. The only thing they need to do is confirming extra couple of details which does not sound important or sounds silly to you.

I recently went on to confused.com for a quote only - well, for a chance to win their million quid giveaway but since keep getting calls from this number and other insurance companies. I am certain that this is how they are getting the million quid to give away. they are selling our details to insurance companies!!!
Oh, and I've been working for a No. 1 insurance company for over 10 years now so I should know.

Had a call from them too but they rang off after 1 or 2 rings. If they're a genuine broker perhaps they should try a little harder not to act like a bunch of scammers!

they called offering a type of breakdown insurance    all seemed interesting until they asked for my sort code and account number
i thought a bit dodgy and refused to give number
they said they were from direct choice insrance
different part of the country!!!!

This is definately confused.com, they are a right scam merchant.  This is with regards to their million pound giveaway.  Do not answer and boycott confused.com.  Maybe this will be the only way to stop these companies from doing this.  I will put this forward to watchdog and any other regulating body there seems to be.

I got call from this number too.  It registered missed on my phone but i know not to call back!!

Got a call at 1600 and the line went dead as soon as i answered.  Had been on confused.com a few hours previously....hmmmmmmm

Rang me at 7.30pm. Rang the number back and got a recorded message to say they had tried to contact me about my insurance policy - who are they?

I recieved a call from this number on tuesday at 10.08am i did not answer as i was busy and did 1471 afterwards.It is listed as being huddesfield or wakefield in the phone book (the area code) furthermore, we ar registered with the telephone preferencing service so should not recieve any cold calls!!i hate call centres!!
The latest thing seems to be ringing you, and when you answer you get an automated message saying "such and such tried to call you today, but an operator cannot take your call right now, we will try again later" most annoying!!

i have insurance with Heath Lambert and this number keeps calling me saying its Health lambert. They asked me to confirm my date of birth , post code, and telephone no. I replied you tell me the first line of my address and post code beofre i confrim anyhting since you seem to have my details otherwise you wouldnt be calling me.. the line went dead...

Adive.. tell them nothing!!!!
