I get about 3 of these a day asking for someone I've never even heard of.  Just phoned BT and complained but all they say they can do is register me with TPS or change my phone number as open reach own the phone numbers not BT.

As suggested by Telephone Preference Service I have, today, formally complained to The Information Commissioners Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF re calls from the above number. I was, at one stage, receiving Tax Credit.

getting fed up of these people. been registered with tps for years, but this number seems to ignore their rules. Started being polite and got nowwhere. Threatened to compain to TPS but still got called. I have made a complaint about them now so lets see how much good that does, lol.

Constant calls all day Saturday - annoying..!!

Recieved a 3 calls from this number on a Sunday Afternoon!!!!!

Very rude and continues to phone day after day and will not cease, even after requesting that they do not phone again, and also continues to ask for a person who does not live here or ever did.

Says that he is phoning with relation to the UK Goverment's debt consolidation policy.

Obviously too difficult a concept to grasp.

Just received a call from this number yet again.. they just hang up.. next time i'm wolf whisling down the phone.. might not stop them but will deafen one of the call centre people and that might stop these stupid waste of time calls.

No calls from them today!  They called three times yesterday asking for a person I've never heard of (per BT when you give up a number it's allocated to the next available person and is not attached to an address). Instead of saying I don't know him and telling them not to call again I now say I'll just go and get him then go and watch tv instead and leave them waiting. It seems to be working..........

We've been getting calls from this same number too. But they seem to have stopped for the moment. Last encounter (which was about 3-4 days ago now) went something like this:

- "Hello Mr Brian Joseph?"
And me, not being my father, decide to go with it
- "Yes, speaking."
- "Ah good, how are you today Sir?"
- "I'm okay."
- "Good. My name is Lee..."  (Pff.. yeah right!) ".. and I'm with--"

At that point I put the phone on the side and continued with my day, after a while I heard the nee-naw noise (I have no idea what to call it) and put the phone back on the hook.

Seems to have worked.

These calls are coming from Global Credit Management, apparently based in Leicester but using a call centre in India.  They are trying to sell you a way of consolidating your debts.  

Ask to speak to their supervisor, tell him you are registered with TPS and you don't want any more calls.  Seems to work.  Also complain to Ofcom about them at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/nuisance/

Been calling multiple times a day for the last week. Tell them we aren't interested but they don't stop - really annoying

Over the last few days i have been telephoned every hour until around 5pm.
And yes cheap labour springs to mind, use people who dont have a clue, and who are reading off a computer screen.
You can abuse them on the phone and believe it or not they keep on saying the same lines over and over again. what to do?. Well ive been told to report it to my local police station and they will barr the call. Well lets see if thats true.

this number called today asking for my husband and said they were a credit company

Just received a call from these people.   Caller had very strong accent and I had trouble understanding him.   Something to do with IVA.   Asking for personnal financial information.   Be vigilant if you receive a call from these people.   Do not provide any information, including confirming your name.   If they call, ask them to hold on, then leave the phone.   Let them pay the phone bill.   Either that or go back to the old fashioned way of dealing with these people, get a whistle.  Contact TPC, BT's Choose to refuse service (free for 28 days, then £10.00 quartely charge), and report them to Ofcom.

This silly sod keeps calling me house phone in the day and does not leave a message, I mean how rude!
