I'v had several calls from this number but I don't answer it, the probable reason for the pause is that they call several numbers at once and if you answer just after another punter they ignor you, that's my guess.

I too keep getting these silent calls. Not managed to speak to the person on the other end yet, but boy will he get a flea in his ear when he does! Extremely annoying especially when you're very busy & have to take time out to answer the phone. It should be illegal to cold call. How would they like it if we had their number & we kept ringing them? My husband's very good when he answers one of these calls & he manages to speak to someone. He plays them at their own game & strings them along! The loan people are the best...he just tells them he's a millionaire & then asks them if they would like to borrow some money from him!!!

I have had these calls before and what is happening is that the other end is calling hundreds of lines at the same time and since they have less operators that calls being made, the first people to answer get some twat asking silly questions and the lucky ones get a dial tone. I can't recall how I stopped it the last time, but do recall it was international before and so TPS couldn't do anything about it. Sure it was BT in the end that helped and if I figure it out, will post another comment.

Do agree though that it is irritating and makes you mad..

I've had 6 calls from this number today, the first 5 were just silent and then the last one after about 10 seconds someone said "alright". I hung up, then picked up to dial 1471 only to find them still on the line!

keep getting calls from number - 020030043198 - very rude calls actually and scary!

every 10 minutes today from 3pm 'till now - about 8 calls in total - they call.

i'm on the tps - but they ignore me telling them this!

On January 30, Simon gave us al lthe information we need to make OFCOM act.  Let's get on with it and stop these people. If enough people pester OFCOM they will act. Here's the link:

Just had a call from an Indian chap from this number trying to sell a mortgage against a property we moved from years ago!.  Best advice is to sign up with TPS (its free) as we did some time ago though be aware that the occasional call (like these from unregistered numbering ranges) will get through until they're captured on the TPS system.

They just hang up when you answer, tried to call them back, it rings a few times then the line goes dead- apparently the tps service only can stop nuisance calls from the UK

I've had several calls over the last few weeks with no speech and line going dead.  Just now i've had 2 within 2 minutes.  I just did what Simon on the 30th Jan said and gave details to OFCOM.

I've been registered with the TPS for years.

We've had these calls for over a week now. The number trying to get through is 02030043199 (very close to all yours).
Nice man at Virgin Media tells me it's a Sales Company, and I've just got through to them - somewhere Overseas! Guess where!
He told me the company name is "3C Surveys" and they do work for a UK branch/office. Kept asking me to verify my name and number, and he was told that would not be possible!
Have registered with TPS on 0800 398 893 and the Silent Call Guard on 0870 444 3969. TPS just do Sales/Marketing companies, whereas SCG do ALL 'silent' calls, i.e. Call Centres/Computer dialled numbers and overseas numbers, etc.
I will now go onto the OFCOM web-site as advised above.

This is CIT or CITI Credit Management, trying to offer IVA's (Individial Voluntary Agreements or something).  I've asked them twice not to call, this time when I started to ask, they hung up immediately.

These clowns are riding my patience!!

Just had the same as you 10 times today.

i keep gitting these calls from the same number, i have done loads of things to try and stop them caling like playing a 'fax' noise from my computer down the phone, picking up and just placeing it on mute, answered as 'hello, this line is being recorded for sucrity reason' and each time they hang up i'm gitting fed up with these people there just like mosqueitos anoying and they just dont go away.

my wifes been getting these calls regularly, i caught one today which hung up immediately so i rang back,it took me a few calls to get through after which i told them to f**k off but in a less polite way.I would suggest nobody else do this i will probably pay an astronical ammount for the privelige.
