Report a phone call from 02030045597 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Steve U Dorset| 2 repliesBogus con-company
had a call from a Liam stating he was from the TPS and had noticed I'd had a higher level of unwanted calls and offered a premium service for £79.99. Asked if there were details on the TPS web site and he said it should all be there. Wasn't pushy, but very untruthful.- Caller: "TPS"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BillHad a call from this number. Tried to call them back but got a phoney message about the line being out of service.
- sue| 4 repliesjust received call from this bunch telling me they were from TPS and can stop all unwanted sales calls international and uk, asked what company it was, and when pushed its not the telephone preference service its TELECOM preference service (sneaky) and tried to sell a product to rid me of unwanted sales calls at a cost that works out at ONLY £1.99 per month (didnt even bother asking how many months). I then told her she was an unwanted sales call. Another one added to my free call blocker.
- Nan replies to sue| 3 repliesVery sneaky and dishonest. The call themselves the Telephone PROTECTION Service so that they can say they are the TPS without breaking the law. They hope to fool people into thinking that TPS is not a free service, which the real TPS is, and getting them to pay for a service which does not exist. They cannot, of course stop ALL nuisance calls and do not know how many, if any, calls you have been getting. As you say, they cannot see the irony of making a nuisance call offering to stop nuisance calls!
- DeenyVery well spoken man, who sounds the part..... Saying he was from TPS......... I told him i already had a block on problem calls.......... He cut me off immediately
- Caller: TPS
- geordieboyJust had a guy called Ellis claiming he's rom the Telecon Protection Service and trying to sell me 'Callblocker' for £79.00. My suspicions were aroused when I asked how he knew i had a lot of unsolicited calls when I only reported them to the ICO. "Who is the ICO?" he asked. He then asked me for my password so that I could verify subsequent calls. When I told him I didn't give passwords over the phone, he hung up. Probable scam
- Caller: Telecom Protection Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- geordieboy| 1 replyThe b****** don't give up. Four calls in the space of 18minutes this morning. Different names given but at least two sounded like the same person. Didn't give them the chance to spew out their script.
- Caller: Telecon Protection Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Michael WhiteThis company is definitely bogus. I have sent all the information I have about them to the real TPS and would encourage any one else who receives calls from them to do the same.
TPS address; 5th Floor, Haymarket House
1 Oxendon Street
London, SW1Y 4EE- Caller: Telephone Protection Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- sueThanks for all previous information. Called me several times to today, whilst I was out. Obviously they didn't leave a message. I can at least warn my 87 year old mum not to talk to these people, if they try and call and con her. Won't get any joy out of me...that's for sure!
- Caller: Telephone protection service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mrs GLady called Natasha just called me from this number trying to sell a call blocking device. I asked her how I could know who I was talking to and she referred me to the telecom preference service page on my computer and gave me a telephone number for them of 0871-9891414 (came up as an unknown number when googled). I said anyone could refer someone to a website but that I would independently check with the telephone preference service and ascertain whether such a product was on offer. She said "OK fine" and put the phone down. Very creative with her answers to my various questions and could easily fool the unaware public.
- Caller: referred to as Telecom Preference Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- M JSame as the above
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RichardClaimed to be Telephone Protection Service, name of nATASHA ( , WANTED 50P A MONTH FOR 3 YEARS. Gave a number to call back for verification of 0871 9891414 , BUT when I called 1471, I got this 0203 00045597 number, ie yet another would be scammer.
- Caller: Telephone Protection Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- KNReceived a very annoying call from Ellis who wanted credit card details to sign up for contract for 3 years. Gave same phone number and address as above. Scam to get credit card details. Beware!!
- Caller: Telecom Protection Service
- Mike2000They don't get through my call blocker but they are invited to leave a message. Genuine folks do this but these don't.
Could nearly do the same as my blocker with an answer phone and switch the telephone sound off. If it was someone you wished to speak to just phone them back and if they do the same just leave a message on their answer phone. Less talking and may save on telephone bills. - HineCalled now by this number reporting to be the TPS service and would take my number off all registers, then tried to charge me a fee to take me off international calls registers. Scammers.
- Caller: Bogus TPS
- Reg| 1 replyReceived call from a gentleman named Kerry who sounded very plausible and gave me a number 08719891414 which upon looking it up on Google and this site drew a blank so suspicion became aroused but I let him carry on with his sales patter. . He claimed to be from Telecom Protection Service and said that they understood that I was received an abundance of unwanted calls - which I have. He offered me a service which would block such calls for a fee of 50p per month for three years subscription but I had to pay £79 upfront for a gadget to attach to my phone. I asked him where he had got the information revealing that I had received numerous calls and he replied that it was from a general survey of the area where I live. I immediately declined his kind offer and suggested that he was part of a scam and possibly in collusion with the people who make the annoying calls. At this point he became a bit annoyed and this deepened when I said that I will be reporting the matter to Trading Standards supplying them them a number which I believed to be non-existent and any number that I obtain from dialing 1471. The number obtained after dialing 1471 was 02030045597..
- Caller: Telecom Protection Service
- HarryRichie Barron called from 02030045597 and at first I was interested, he said he was calling from BT, then working with BT, and then with TPS - at which point I came to the conclusion he was none of the above. I was distracted but I listened to his description of a piece of kit to block nuisance calls for £79.99 - he even gave me his customer service telephone number so I could call him back: 0871 989 1414. I found this item, endorsed by Age Concern, The Security Police and many others for £39.99 and bought this from Amazon. When he rang back (as I hadn't called him back) I said that I had bought the piece of kit for half the price. He then said I was fool as this was just the equipment and not an update service for life and hoped that I received many prank calls. I shall be reporting this to Trading Standards and Telecom as this is offensive and vaguely threating. I have TPS and this was clearly a sales call.
- Caller: BT/TPS - hoax
- SylviaSaw 02030045597 on my call logger before I answered the phone, so was instantly alert to a scam. Bloke started on his script, but i kept asking where he had got my number from -- got no response from him. He said he had a call-blocker for £79.99, and I told him that it was an offence to cold call me, and try to sell stuff, and that I would report him to the REAL TPS. It's also annoying that these parsites ring around meal times, knowing that it's a more likely time to have someone answer the phone.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SuePhoned yesterday and said that as I received junk phone calls they could stop them. Said they were the TPS. When asked if this was free service the woman immediately put down the phone. Hopefully will not receive extra unsolicited calls.
- colin replies to RegThanks to all who posted info on this site. I was called this evening at 4.50 by a well spoken guy called Russell, calling from Bournemouth, apparently. The same speil as above, very plausable. Luckily I stopped short of buying on the spot, and thought a spot of research was in order. Well done again for highlighting this problem.
