Been called by this number on a several occassions over the last few weeks. When I answer the call, nobody is there. When I try to ring the number back it gives me an 08456022781 to opt out of the re call system. This number then tells me that the opt out option is not permitted to me. How the hell do I stop these nuisance calls!!!! HELP. I work in the NHS & my phone is for urgent calls only !!!!

Same here, but they are calling for my son, apparently on behalf of Halifax bank.  I demanded they stop annoying me and write to him, but they claim letters have been sent, though there's nothing come through but regular statements.
The 'opt-out' number gave a recorded message saying I couldn't opt out 'because of the nature of their call'.  We are on telephone preference service because I'm disabled, my son doesn't normally live here but had to give it as a home address while a student.  I've tried rational responses and am now reduced to yelling at them - when there's anyone on the line.

Same again. They said they were from the Halifax and wanted my acct number and sort code (I don't bank with the Halifax). Sounds like fraud to me..I will probably report this to the police.

I am getting these calls about 20 times a day and through the night on my duty manager 'On Emergency' mobile.

Called from this number today. I asked them for my security code and they didnt have it.

Probably an outsource company of HBOS. When you call the number backl the recording sounds liek iot was made in a bathroom in Nigeria. Louds of background hiss and poor quality.

If this is HBOS< they really should tidy up their practises in this age of CC fraud.

calls home number 5-6 times daily is driving us mad.

Been getting this for about 5 days now, voice has changed to an Irish accent and final seems to be getting the hint to stop, but we'll see.
Same tosh about trying to contact account holder, will now do it by letter.

Received first call on 9 Nov on my mobile.  I told them to stop calling. Within minutes they were calling on my landline. Three calls within an hour and another on my mobile.  The next day they called my landline again, but hung up when I answered.

Started by politely asking them to stop calling, but I am now resorting to shouting and screaming. They claim to represent the Halifax and are selling accidental death/injury insurance, but I doubt they are the Halifax really as I'm sure if we report this to the bank they will claim it is nothing to do with them.

Calls and hangs up just done it about 5 mins ago.

They Called Back Just, looking for the previous keeper of my phone number.

Claiming to be doing 'Collections' on behalf of Halifax, Based in Shannon in Ireland.

Can't put you through to a supervisor, Can't take you out of the database even though I asked to be. When asked what exactly they are doing she hung up.

020 3 is the new London code.  How can calls be coming from Ireland with that number?  Must be a scam.

Just called me!!! i am livid!!!  i work nights and these types of pests are getting me down. I am registered with tps and silentcallers. i am not with halifax so how they get this number?

Yeh I've been getting calls last couple of days from this number and don't know who it is! Who are the hell are these dodgy people!

Rang again!!! Have resorted to turning volume off on phone

These pests have been calling me 6-8 times a day for last few days. My own Halifax branch tell me that this is not a Halifax number. I have reported this to City of London Police

Twice now Samir,no doubt be more tomorrow. Going to ring my phone provider tomorrow to see what they say.

The person who's been ringing me has been some Indian woman. Right nuisance, been calling constantly. Probably some scammers/criminals pretending to be Halifax to try and find out your personal details and get access to your bank account.

I have had the same problem; with both my home and mobile number I have yet to answer any of the calls.It has been going on for about a week now. I am glad I looked up this number. Having worked in the banking industry I know that no bank/building society will ever contact you directly asking for account details or pin numbers/security numbers.
