received 2 phone calls on my landline just now within an hour. WOke me up which i wasn't happy about. having read another report of a similar number, i am beginning to think this is definately a fraud call.
Just had 2 calls within the hour. I think the same no. called my partner on sunday saying they were from his bank and asking him to cofirm details such as date of birth.. he told them it wasn't a convenient time- and they just hung up..
Repeated missed calls from this number. Have never answered it but feel a little bit concerned, as most people are, that the number brings me here when I google it!!
I am so pleased to find this site. It puts my mind at rest. Keep getting calls from this number every day or so. No messages left. Any idea who it is??? No caller id, but the number was there. I expected it to be withheld.
yep, had them call me tonight, at the rather rude time of 9pm; gave them about 15 secs to reply, but they chose not to. i then remembered that they called precisely a week earlier, at the almost exact same time. again, no one replied. so, i hung up. isnt 0203 a new london dialing code?
Again 4 times and never leave message and when I answer long delay very frustrating.I hate cold calling if I want a service I will dame well pick up the phone!
Called 4 days in a row requesting personal security details relating to bank account; claimed to be calling from the Halifax bank. Always ring in the afternoon but only ever request my wife - i mentioned that she is only in during the evenings and they put a note on their system: called one evening as a result. However, after my wife spoke to them and requested no more contact, they called again the next afternoon requesting her. Claim to be selling a product called 'Card Care'. If you call up the number it goes straight to the answering machine with a promise to contact ASAP (unsurprisingly). Does not sound genuine at all.
Have been called by 02031035180 several times over the last few days. I missed the first call and didn't recognise the area code (turns out to be a london number) so looked it up and found this page. Didn't answer it for the next half dozen or so times and then got annoyed so I answered it.
Chap who said his name is Sean Hayward identified me by name and asked me to confirm my identity by telling him my date of birth. I told him about this page and that I was going to call Halifax about it before talking to him. "Err... we're not a hoax...". uhhuh
Called halifax. "We don't do that so yes it's a scam. unfortunately it is not in our power to do anything about it - recommend you try the police"
Called police. "Ah yes, this happens a lot. Better try http://www.icstic.org.uk" (Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services.)
Renamed to phonepayplus @ www.phonepayplus.org.uk. Try to complain: "sorry, we only deal with premium rate numbers..."
bah.
Anyway, yes, it really is a scam. Shouldn't cost you anything to answer, so you can do so and tell them off for being evil... or something. They haven't called me again since I told 'Sean' I suspected him of being a scammer
