I had a phone call on Sunday while the FA cup draw was on (3pm?)from Halifax asking me for an interview (I didn't notice the phone number displayed).
I have missed calls from this number at about 5.30 last night and the same tonight so Googled it and came across this site. I will make sure that I dont answer it.

Just love Ruperts comments and took on board the advice provided re investigating the links. Am pleased to say that inteligence prevails. The young lady who rang my wife today was in no way intrusive and acctually had a very stimulating conversation with my better half. Checked this number out a few days ago after it appeared as a missed call. When they called again this afternoon decided to hear them out. Am pretty disgusted at what i have seen written here about these so called 'call centre statff' The young lady whom delt with my wife was by no means lacking in brain cells and had better manners than the majority of you whom have posted comments on this site. Hope your ashamed of yourselves but very much doubt it.
Everyday in the media people are demonised for not getting work. The staff at this call centre have at least had the motivation to get off their backsides and take these jobs rather than languish on benefits which we all seem to have an opinion about when it comes to paying our taxes. Its by no means a nice job and made all the more difficult when met with hostility such as this.
Before i sign off would just wish to bring to your attention that it is in fact the Halifax whom provides all our details to companies such as first assist. Do you honestly beleive for one moment that the Halifax have nothing to do with this? Since when has a bank or any finacial institution come to think of it ever been completely honest about what they do with our details. If you visit a branch and buy a service such as accident insurance are you not aware that the staff earn a commission on that sale? By employing a call centre to do the deed it enables them to target a wider range of customers thus increasing their profits tenfold. Its not the call centre staff at fault, in an ideal world we all want to work to provide and sometimes only these kind of jobs are availabe. You want to thank yourselves that the Halifax has chosen to invest in a british company to market for them rather than an indian one. At the very least its providing work where so many people both need and benefit from it. If you really do have such a problem with calls like this etc then i suggest you vote with your feet or to put it in a nutshell 'don't shoot the messenger'!!! As for a previous posting to the person whom made the comment 'what goes around comes around' you reall do want to hope and pray that your so wrong. Be it on yor own head!!!!

Getting calls from this number 4/5 times a day for three weeks - always! hangs up when I pick up phone. This is illegal.

my son in law works for the Halifax bank and i have been a customer of theirs for a number of years. I too have received several calls from this number and can confirm after passing to my son in law it is indeed part of the Halifax group. Would like to say that i am in agreement with Adrian regarding the mis-use of our details. Blame the Halifax not the people trying to do a job. Am disgusted at what i have read on this sight and will not return. Thank god i raised my own family to show respect to others. Would not wish to be assosiatedwith the fowl mouthed uncouth people that have posted your comments. I will be taking Adrians advice and changing banks. Thank you adrian for common sense

Received call from said company. First assist are the company employed by the Halifax to provide insurance products. Its on the Halifax website. What is slanderous about that? Wasn't Monica the dog off coronation street?
