Called today at 16.01. Silent, then recorded woman's voice said "Goodbye"

Had a call just now, guy said he worked for someone called PP and he had had a report from Microsoft that something was wrong with my computer and it would need attention. Didn't let him rattle on any more, he couldnt answer my questions about how he knew this, or how his server could recognise faults when it wasn't even connected, called him a liar and told him not to keep bothering me and everyone else with such rubbish.
He hung up, rude man.

My uncle George works in computers, writing programmes etc., and tells me it is totally impossible for anyone to recognise faults in a computer without their server being connected with it with you actually `signing it over' to them.

Don't whatever you do fall for this rubbish, and DON'T follow any instructions they give you.


I suggest everyone else should do the same

I had a call at about 11.30am this morning from the same number - by the time I answered all I got was the dialling code. If it was some con artist wanting to access my computer they would not have gotten very far!

Couple of calls this week, silent when answered - time wasters....

had 2 calls from this number - they dont get the message - put them "on hold" this time

complete Fraud - do not listen to these folks!

some BS about Microsoft, BT/Ofcom/ICO dont care as it is from overseas

Cold call, Con trying to get infomation / money on the premise that my pc was send faults to thier server.

This is totally impossible, please hang up on these calls!!!

This was an unsolicited call and i am supposed to be proteced from unsolicited marketing!

Please do not give access to your computer>these people say they are micro soft windows and they want access to your computer.this is a scam.just hang up and report them.

I had a call from this number 10 mins ago. I have heard about these scams so listened for 10 seconds then told him he wasn't having access to my PC and hung up. He phoned back but I didn't answer.

02032345673 called today 9th February 2013 at 11.11.  Spoke to a guy named "Charles Brown" about Windows software !!!!!!  Asked where he got my details from, he replied that they came from the "server department" and he was calling from MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA - work that one out when the phone number is in LONDON.

No, it only looks like London.  The number is fake, via Skype and the caller is probably in India.

Just had a call from this company - an Indian male. I answered and there was a lot of laughing and joking in the back ground in, what I assume, was in Punjab. When I finally got his attention, he said he was calling about my PC security. I asked 'which PC?' He couldn't answer and he went silent. I asked if he was going to speak and in reply he said 'hold the line! Hold the line!' Then he went back to jabbering on in his home indian language, laighing and joking to someone before I hung up. Professional... I think not! Obviously a scam!

Idiots trying to tell me there's something wrong with my computer. I keep them on the phone for as long as possible (without giving away any information). They might eventually get the message if we all keep them on the phone all day and they don't get anything out of it!

I have had three calls from this number despite asking them not to call me anymore.  The caller told me I had 'infections' on my computer and that I 'must' go and log on and allow him access and he would sort it out.  He said he worked for Windows and for Microsoft.  I asked how he knew what was on my computer and he wouldn't answer.  When he called this morning I told him not to go any further - that I knew it was a scam and not to  call again.  He then yelled down the phone, so I hung up.  Immediately afterwards I had an unobtainable number - presumably so that 1471 would be wiped off my phone.  So fed up with idiots like these.  Have signed up with the telephone preference service but it doesn't seem to stop these calls.S

18th Feb - an idiot called Stephen said he worked for Windows and wanted my computer details, I told him to go elsewher

Having same problem with same phone number and sometimes withheld, i know it's a scam and i tell them so, but what is quite unnerving is that they have called me by my surname and i don't know how they know that, has this happened to any one else?
