My sister in law received a call, that became abusive, from this supposed number. Again, claiming to be from Microsoft, they wanted her credit card details to upgrade her software, software that she had already paid for. She is disabled and quite fragile and found this most distressing. Let them be caught and tell me their name, then they will receive real abuse.

Called today from  Window techie telling me that I got viruses on my PC.  His kids where making a racket in the background and "Sam Parker" had a very strong Indian accent.  I put the phone down on him and he called me back twice.  I answered the call thinking that it was his line costs not mine and asked him for his details and phone number.  I googled his number and got onto fake call websites

Hi got a call from this number 02033180150 she was indian and her name was Rose calling me from 'windows support', told me that there was spyware and malware attached to my computer and that I would need to speak to a technician to rectify the problem.  She got me to look at my prefetch list and event viewer and roughly count the number of red errors!!!  told her I would speak to an IT friend and call her back.  haven't spoken to him as yet but called the number back and it rings with an abroad tone....still unsure but quite unnerved by it!

Calls frequently claiming to be from TechResearch as well saying part of Microsoft, and that my PC needs upgrading as is slow etc. Am reporting them as a malicious caller.

These guys are still at it.  Told them I didn't trust them, and took this number from them.
Similar routine - prefetch list, red crosses, etc....
I asked them a dozen times if they were part of Microsoft, or were authorised to work on behalf of Microsoft (the builders of Windows), and they ducked the question everytime.  Something about being the company that designed and built the Windows operating software.  Asked them to send me an email with a web address so I could verify and check-out their company.   They refused = 'Against company policy'.  All 3 people spoken to had heavy Indian accents.
Looks and sounds like a scam to me.

Natasha called saying she was from Windows Operating System, and that tests showed my PC was infected and other such nonsense. I explained that I could not get to my PC, but I would call her back asking where she was based. She replied Oxfordshire.
Upon investigation 02033180510 was allocated to Voxnbone SA in Oct.2007.
I then called a BT operator and made a reverve charge call. It helps if you give the operator a contact name to ask for. Once they accept the reverse charge call, it costs them a lot.
As they were paying for the call, I stringed her along for a while before asking very pertinent qustions about their ethics and legality. Eventually I was disconected.

My husband answered a call, purporting to be from Microsoft Service Centre for Windows Operating System in Oxfordshire.  He was told that they were aware of numerous viruses on our PC and asked him to go into certain files to check how many error messages there were.  They then passed him to someone in their "Technical Support" team who said our licence had run out and we needed to buy a new licence so they could remove the viruses.

I then took over the phone call and said I needed to verify that he was from Microsft and I asked for his number.   He gave me 020 331 80510 and said his name was Sam Rogers.  He was very persistent (as was I).  I repeated that I needed to verify who he was, that he was speaking very fast and he should slow down and explain himself.  When I asked for a website address he put the phone down.  When we dialled 1471 the caller's number was 012127 773022.

Presumably if we had agreed to purchase a licence he would then have asked for credit card details.

I recieved a call from an Indian lady who stated very clearly that she was from the Windows Service Centre in Oxforshire.  She got me to look at the prefetch, eventvwr etc. and then tried to get me to go to logmein123.com so that she could take control of my computer.  She also said that I would have to pay £80 for software update. I asked for a number , or an email with her details and she gave me 02033180510.  When I checked the number she had phoned from there was no number recorded on 1471. I think this is a very pushy phone scam, but I don't know who to report them to.

They are a phone scammer looking to gain credit card details by claiming you have a virused computer.
Working for a telemarketing company myself was funny to call them and try to sell them stuff lol really annoyed 1 indian sounding man and 1 indian sounding woman. When pressed for address, emails and websites they just hung up but did give 12 Banbury Road Oxfordshire as their address probably bogus though.  Found it funny to annoy and anger them! Ignore calls from them

Alice 'phoned me,said she was calling on behalf of windows. I was partly taken in but at the point where she had taken me to the list of errors and warnings, I said I would 'phone her back.
The Google menu was very helpful in confirming that this is a scam. Thank you.

I received 2 phone calls - the first (yesterday) I ignored because the caller sounded like a scammer.  Indian accent, fast talker.  I received the second call moments ago, and asked further questions.  He said his name was Kevin James, calling from "Windows Service Centre", but again, he had a strong Indian accent and spoke very fast - even after I asked him, politely, to slow down.  As others here have done, I asked for his phone number - without giving any details.  it was 02033180510.  I also used call back to get his real number, which - amazingly - was not blocked.  It was 012127773022.  This number has shown up on other malicious number sites as well.  Nevertheless, "Kevin James" had already obtained, by other means, many of my own personal details (name, address and, of course, phone number), which he read back to me to gain my confidence. This distressed me even more as our phone has always been in my wife's maiden name. Finally, I recommend this site offer a "malicious" call type - as this one certainly was.

I feel like a fool cause I went along some of the way with one of these ladies yesterday.  I wanted to be polite as I have worked as telephone sales and I know how hard it can be but to my disgust when I said I was not comfortable with following all the instructions from the caller,  which she was firing at me at a very quick pace she just hung up.  Now when we want to shut down our computer it keeps telling us we have programmes still running which we don't and I am in serious trouble if this computer goes.

I got the same call this morning from someone claiming to be Kevin...asked what number I could call him back on and he gave me the 02033180510 number.  Also when I asked where he was based, he said Oxfordshire.  He knew my name...that was the creepy thing.  I tried to call our telephone provider to report it (Talk talk) but they were pretty useless.  My only concern is that these nutters are trying to hack into our internet connection and can someone how remotely get into your computer but I assume if you give no info, they cant? Any solutions?

I was told that they had received a message from my computer to say that a virus had somehow got into my computer and I was in danger of finding that the screen would just go . He said that he was calling from Microsoft Reading Centre or something like that. I asked for the name of the caller again, it was Kevin . . .  I couldn't catch the surname so I asked for him to repeat it, which he did.  I asked him to spell it for me,as I still could not understand him properly, but  he would not. Instead  he just kept asking me to turn my computer on so that he could put the problem right.  I asked for his phone number so that I could check it out to be sure that he was bona fide.  He gave me the phone number, but still tried to get me to turn my computer on before I put the phone down.  I told him I'd ring him back when I had checked things out.  While I was trying to do this, he rang back again.  My son answered and told him that it would take me another 1/2 hr when I would ring him back if I wanted to.
I rang a friend who is very computer literate.  He managed to find out for me how to report the incident   Before I received this by email I was rung again.  This time(a different person I think, easier to understand) I was told that Mr Pascoe had rung them and said it was all right for me to talk to him! I told him that that was not the case and reiterated that I did not want to be contacted again, I would ring them if I decided it was safe to do so.

Same thing today.  Guy rings me from an "unavailable" number, claims to be from Microsoft support. Says they have seen malicious software downloading onto my PC, asks me to log in etc which I said I wasn't happy about.  I asked him where he was from, he said Oxford and gave me 02033180510 as the phone number - not an Oxford number.  I thought he sounded African, but definitely foreign.  We are used to getting cold calls from overseas which the Telephone Preference Service can't stop so I said I'd call him back if I felt happy about it (which I don't!) and put the phone down.  Obviously a complete scam.

Indian sounding lady rang and advised that my computer was running slow whilst browsing, she told me she could fix it by asking me to run something on it, I am on preferential dialing so asked where she had got my details from and she advised that when I purchased my computer I had given permission for my details to be held, I then said that I had never purchased a computer in my name as my husband bought it. Our telephone number is in my name in the book so I guess this is where they are getting our details from. I told her that my computer was not slow whilst browsing and she appeared confused by this, I told her that if she had anything to offer me to put it in the post as I do not deal with anyone I do not know or have not asked to call me over the telephone, she appeared flustered by this and so I asked her to remove me from their records or I would report them for cold calling me. HOW would they ever know if your computer was slow whilst browsing? in my opinion it must be a scam!
