This is a scam call from As One Computer claiming to know that your computer is suffering from a virus. They claim to have got the information from your ISP who they will claim is BT. They also claim they are calling from the UK. They're not. They haven't got a clue.
Keep them on the 'phone as long as possible so they don't bother anyone else 8-).

Virus on your computer scam

Just called me telling me they were from Microsoft and they knew my PC was running slowly!

Just had a call from this number saying they work with Microsoft and have received 4000 to 5000 critical errors and virus reports from my computer to their server.  They asked me to visit their website - http://f1compstepuk.com/ and download the instant support software (.exe file) so they can show me the errors.
Needless to say i didnt do this as i know my computer is fine and they are just talking rubbish to try and scam me.
I asked them if they could tell me my IP address.  If they had received any errors then they would know this but he said he couldnt as it was just messages.
I informed him that my computer is virus free and running fine.  He said my anti virus isnt working properly and that they are hidden in more sensitive parts of my hard drive.
After telling him he was talking Bollocks and that it was a scam he said he was going and left the line connected waiting for me to hang up on him.  I didnt and 8 mins later he said Ok and then hung up, giving a total of 26 minutes on the phone.

This company needs to be reported properly, as i asked to speak to a manager, was told to hold, an could hear them telling people to follow steps to infect there computer with whatever it is the words 'can u see a picture of a lady......good ok....i will call you back in 5 minutes' He obv disconted the the call started laughing and said another one down. I mean if your going to fall for something like this then its your own problem, but its still not right. I asked for the registed business number from the manager and he hung up. i would report it, but not sure where ??

Fake do not give any information. Tell them to Fu*k off.

This company purports to be computer maintanance company f1comstep.com. Spoke with Roger..an Asian male...states they are in london, refused to give address. Total scam..suggest report to Trading standards...but NEVER, NEVER give out details of passwords or bank details or personal details to phone callers...ESPECIALLY when it is an unwarranted call...All the warningas are there!!

This is the same company as I had previously, they gave this number for contact but my phone showed the no as 052573182 which is the number last week.  Again an asian voice, this time a woman. She gave me the web site address as www.sficompstepuk,and asked me to log on but you can be sure I wont!

Got a call from this company so I asked if I could phone them back.  "Mark" gave me 02033185274 to call which was answered and "Mark" came to the phone.  I told him my computer was broken and wouldn't turn on ..... and he went away.  Result.

Got a call from "Moses" (Indian accent!) who said my PC was running slow and Microsoft had asked his company to fix it!
Played along for several minutes until he wanted me to "Run" but not "Download" a file from http://f1compstepuk.com/  and I stopped the fun there. I hung up and he rang back. Told him I was busy.

Had a call from this number claiming my pc was submitting error messages and they were working on behalf of microsoft. Wanted me to log on to there web site, and download a cure. When I explained I did not know who they were and though this was a scam so they could take control om my PC they hung up.

seems as though this is the latest scam thats doing the rounds.

the current computeractive mag has an article on this on P6.  The have asked for anyone who gets a call to extract as much info, names, numbers IDs etc and to advise them on their email at consumeractive 'at' computeractive.co.uk  

dont know who to report this too - is it a phone scam or a PC scam?  ofcom or ICSTIS or whatever its changed its name to.

Had a call from them today. Not too sure what the intention was with regards to scamming as they asked me for no information. I had the same old tat that Microsoft had advised them to contact me, so they have some form of mailing list, but got my name wrong. Conversation lasted about ten minutes, as she explained to me where I should look for these viruses and and that end said something about how she could advise me on how to repair it, but didn't try to sell. I hope this isn't some kind of reverse dialling scam and you end up with a bill for phoning them.

F1compset rang me saying they had been notified by micosoft to repair my computer charged £80 to repair and signed me up for quarterly payments. Shortly afterwards my computer crashed and I have had to restore back to factory settings I am now reporting to trading standards. What can I say about this comany other than scum and avoid at all costs!

This is the Asian Microsoft Computer Scam that has been running since 2008. The best thing to do is keep them on the line but tell them a load of false information so they wrack up a high telephone bill and waste their time. Microsoft will NEVER call you at home.

Most of those scams originate from ctnrouies where their criminal justice systems are barely functioning if at all.  While they may want to do something, they are simply overwhelmed.
