This  number calls the house phone  , no one answers when i pick it up , and the phone number only has 10 digits .  how can this be ??

Just got a call from this number. Badly accented foreigner trying to tell me my computer had been infected by corrupt files. Strung him along a bit until he asked me what operating system I was using. As soon as I told him it was Mac OSX he hung up.

Hi this number is short as tey use some sort of VOIP phone like Skype, so they can change it loads of times. These people get your computer details and tey tell you something's wrong with it ask you for money to diagnose  the problem they claim to be able to spot online which they can't!! They once tey have access they charge you for a fake repair then later on they come back when you are not aware and go in through a back door they open its scam which has been running on various numbers. Remember never use thn even if they say they are reputable they are not!! It's a scam report number to TPS and if it persists even after number changed or blocked then harrasment legal action can be taken they are a nuisance and all of them are guilty if they work or probably is just one person making up a company name diff each time. They are scum, I is illegal entry using trust of that person nobody will ever take control unless its Microsoft in which case you call them. If after I write this and you ignore it and get ripped off my suggestio would be you have no place using a computer!! Sorry but it's true people loose out when they not educated to work it out, I'd someone wants access they can come to you and you should be the one who rings not them!!
