And today's overly enthusiastic cold caller unable to actually connect me to anybody is... No idea but I suppose after another six calls I'm find out eventually although currently it's probably the energy saving people.

The caller said he was ringing from Bournemouth and he represented a company who help you prevent unsolicited calls.  He asked how many unwanted calls I receive each day.  I am always suspicious of any cold call especially when the caller has a strong accent which is not a UK one so I terminated the call.  He wasn't very pushy so maybe he was genuine but I wasn't taking any chances.

Michael said he was calling from the government-backed anti-telemarketing unit. I asked him for their postal address so as I could write to them. He hung up on me.

Call received enquiring if  we received a lot of nuisance calls & offered to connect me to a new line which would eliminate.
Asked her if they were BT, replied "No". Pointed out that she was therefore a nuisance call and she rang off>

CLEVER ONE......Keiley.."Energy saving centre" rang, told her we get lots of calls from them, please leave us alone then replaced phone....within 30 seconds phone rings.....Maria, "Who Calls Me" central office..."I believe you get lots of unwanted calls", she quotes my name and address to me, "Yes" I say enthusiastically....."We are sending you a call blocker which will stop calls after 28 days for life, we need £2.17 a month".....I cut her off then.
1471 showed I was called from 0203817446.   CLEVER Scam, ring, pester then offer assistance. PLEASE WARN EVERYBODY YOU KNOW, Ta !

Could barely hear her. It seemed likely to be rubbish and something to do with getting a lot of rubbish calls, but she gave up when I kept having to say 'sorry i really cannot hear you' and rang off after a minute

Got this call from 0203817446. Foreign woman (Asian) says that I am getting many nuisance calls from marketing companies. Told her that was a load of rubbish and that I was getting NO nuisance calls and she hung up. The number looked suspicious to me as it appeared to be a London number, but it only has 10 digits, not 11, as all London numbers have!!!

Someone called from this no, saying it was the National Call Register. Offered a service to stop unwanted calls. No idea who they are so I ended the call. I will do more research but maybe someone can advise?

Same as previous reports - but "Aaron" from "Do not call register" (Asian-sounding guy).  I strung him along for a few minutes, one thing he gave me was a number in case of "future problems" - 0845 129 7936.  I see that this 0845 number has plenty of reports on whocallsme.com (surprise, surprise).  He spoke about £89 total for three years including a "call blocking device" that would attach to the phone line.  I politely declined, and he equally politely ended the call.

This looks to me very suspicious - I don't want a device attached to my phone line from a company I've never heard of, nor do I wish to give such a company any card, bank etc details!  I think I've got enough info probably to report to the ICO, so shall do so.

Caller said I was receiving at least three nuisance calls a day and he was going to put me on the register to stop all such calls coming through.  Told him we were already registered against receiving such calls and that I didn't know which register he was referring to.  Told him I didn't discuss such things over the phone and put the phone down.

Had a call today saying they can stop unwanted calls for three years and then you have to call them back in three years time to do it again. What get scammed again, be aware people another scam to add to the pile

Had a call but nobody actually spoke. The number on 1471 is not a valid number - only 10 digits if my maths is right. So I suspect this is some kind of disguised call. Reading other comments this seems to be a definite scam.

Had a call from 'Ben' who gave me 08451297936 as support number. Wanted me to pay £1.79 a month to get a device tostop unwanted calls - ha!! just what did he think he was??? He had our previous address so is not up to date with his data. Told him I was just on way out and I would ringhim - and he hung up.  Reported to TPS.

Having purchased a CPR call blocker some time ago I just press the Big Red button when these scum ring.
They can never ring me again. Suggest you purchase this item a  one off payments non of this silly monthly payments

I have had this before, they 'cold call' you in order to sell you a service intended to stop cold calls I suggest either hanging up or, of course I wouldn't dream of doing this, keep a whistle by the phone. It's one way of keeping the pests away

Phoned today saying they were from sky and could reduce my monthly payment but I wouldn't give any information said his name was Dave and he was calling from London???????

Just been called by this number yet again he said his name was Russell aisian accent ringing from sky telling me he can reduce my payments asked for my bank details i asked him what details he already had he gave the first four digits then asked me to tell him the rest to which i replied im not giving any information & hung up

Just got a call from an asian woman, i did not hear where she was calling calling from. She told me that i was receiving alot of nuisance calls, and that i could stop them by signing up to a service asked her as to how she knew i was getting all these calls, and told her that i was already signed up to TPS, and asked my husband if he had reported the problem, he said no. Obviously she had heard our conversation and hung up.
