got a call several missed calls from this number onto voicemail but without message. all late at night.

I hardly use my landline and only a few close relations have my number. Im also registered with the TPS to be sure. Usually when the phone rings its someone in my small circle.
Phone rang today, got up and dashed to the phone, picked it up and got a dead line and thought i missed the call. Dialled 1471 and got this number. Looked on here and can now see its normal to pick up to a dead line.
Not happy about this as Ive been very vigilant and careful where I give my number.
Perhaps this is a computer that dials and if the call is answered it then knows its a "live" line so the owner sells the number onto cold calling companies.

They say they are GSK NOP research, a marketing company.
I AM registered with TPS as well. It seems not useful.

TPS applies to Sales and Marketing calls only.

GfK NOP are looking for your opinions and involve no selling.
They used to be National Opinion Polls before.

They have internal procedures to be applied once you tell them clearly to remove your number from their lists.    If they fail to follow those procedures the Managing Director will gladly help.    Home number can be found without too much effort so that you can phone as soon as the Company phones you.

they called me at 9pm on a sunday asked if I was intrested in taking a survey.

they just called us, calls from numbers we don't recognise go to answering machine. Didn't leave a message.

The number called us three times today (Sunday 13th Sept 2009), plus we were called by a slightly different number but with same area code.  No messages left.  We are x-directory and never give out our number.  Didn't try to phone them back and won't bother after reading the comments on here.

Call from 0207 106 0330 and a woan said she was calling form "TSKNOP" and wanted me to do a survey. Told her my number was on a list to stop sales acllas and nt to call me again and she hung up.

This number called me on Sunday 11th October 2009 at 11.10am.  When I answered the phone there was a large amount of call centre hubbub on the line for 2 or 3 seconds but no one spoke and then it went to unobtainable.

I am registered with the TPS and have been for several years and the only company with a likely legitimate reason at present to call me would be MoreThan (RoyalSunAlliance)in relation to my insurance renewal in a week's time.

I will be reporting this to Ofcom as a Silent Call using their complaints form at www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/silent   If they get a lot of complaints about silent calls from one number they ought to take action in the end.

Called again using the same CLI at 3.33pm on 11th October and it was a person from GfK NOP in India wanting to conduct a ludicrous survey on Directory Enquiry Services comparing my opinions of 118118, 118247, 118500 and a few other DQ services.  Played along for a while just to have a better basis for complaining to GfK Nop but the survey was ridiculous and involved endless shades of the same questions about which of these services were better for different things.  I told the predictably robotic Indian that they were all ripoff numbers that I avoided ringing at all costs and that just a few minutes on the line to one of these services equalled a day of his wages but he carried on regardless.

Why is GfK NOP faking London 020 CLIs for these calls from India?  Surely that is not allowed?

I also had another call at 3.25pm from 020 7943 2810 that was only one ring or less ands stopped before I answered it.  I suspect this is another GfK NOP fake London CLI used by their Indian call centre.

The survey was not genuine market research because it was very annoying and the questions were just ludicrous and not ones that anyone would want to answer.  I would happily be asked my opinion on how I voted etc but this was just a nonsense survey.

This number tried calling me twice today in the middle of the day.  I rejected both calls.  When I tried calling back, it was busy.

I just had a message from this call saying they were calling from Air Canada!

Came home from shopping trip - check the phone for calls on 1471 and the number came up as
02071060330 called today at 15.38.
Have no record of this number apart from recognizing 02071 as being London dialling code.
Have relations in London so thought it might be one of them - so dialled the number as given.

All I got is a continuous tone like a wrong number tone.
My thoughts then went into SCAM mode and I wonder if I will suddenly find a huge amount of money owing on my next phone bill - simply by having dialled that number?????????????

This number called us at 7.25pm. The person speaking was foreign and I was unable to understand them properly. I asked where they had got my number from as I am on the Telephone Preference Scheme. The caller continued and ignored my question. He said he was from a marketing company. I then asked for the number he was calling from and told him that I would be reporting this to TPS. Guess what? He hung up. Obtained the number from 1471 and attempted to call back to establish who this was from. Number constantly engaged. Obviously annoying some other poor family!

This number called me this morning but I was out. No message. I think I've had it call before. Who why what is it?

Got a call today from this number.  Claimed to be 'making a courtesy call from British Gas'.  Very clear and polite, Asian accent.

Also registered with TPS and have been for many years. As I was getting so many unsolicited calls in the recent months, I emailed them to check. I was indeed still registered and then advised to report the company name and their number to TPS of any such call. Have to admit, I usually just scream down the phone they are being reported and never to call me again - ever!

Called himself Growth Through Knowledge, but I can't find any company website with that name matching the number.

my daughter just had a call on her mobile from this number, told her not to answer it, they left a voicemail asking her to ring a number to confirm her bank details. Didn't ring back, and won't be after checking this!
