They said that they were returning a call for a Mr Sebastion. Saying they wanted to help fix my computer.
Humoured them for about 7 minutes just to see how far they would go. Load of crap. DO NOT BE DUPED BY THEM. They have Indian accents and try to get you to open Eventviewer on your machine. Then get you to read out what applications have been red flagged. Think they will try and get you to read out your MAC address in some way. This is the unique computer ID. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO THEM...- Caller: online pc solutions

- SallyAlso check out number 469-675-6068.....apparently same company but calling people in America and Australia......reports are saying they have wiped peoples programmes etc....please beware! :( x

I had James Anderson form 'online pc solutions' ring me up and ask to talk to someone who doesn't live here. then went into speal about my computer. i told him i don't have one and he asked was it becuase i couldn't aford it. told him my personal buisness had many so i didn't need my own and he hung up. I phoned back a few minutes later and the guy who answered didn't know who james anderson was but would find him. After asking the guys behind him (cover the mouth peace next time guys) james came back and suddenly he couldn't understand me no matter how clearly i insulted him. I was dead straight too and still nothing! Board, i explained how rude it was to hang up on people and hung up.

- MichelleThis could prove fatal to anyone who doesnt know a whole lot about computers, virus, and how things run.
They are not microsoft certified at all, the number they gave me to call back just rings out and the website they gave me does not exist.
They can not possibly know that you have anything wrong with your computer or anything at all to do with your computer, if you have a problem you ring them, they do not ring you!
Please do not give any information to anyone who calls no matter who they say they are.
Report this to the police for fraud or if you have a good tech support contact them giving them the name, number of the person who called you (dont forget to ask them for it!) - A Burridge| 2 repliesReceived call from James Anderson!!! very Indian accent,on above tele no.Told me I had a fault on my computer, would I go and check my event log. I said no but I would have a look later. He left an address and said company 'Online PC Solutions' was based in Southampton. The machine was on at the time he called(linked to internet) when I checked the machine later the internet link was down and the virus scanner was turned off. Took a few hours to sort out and get back to normal. Not sure what they did, but presume they want to sell recovery software or hack into your computer.

- holtbirdJust received call from James Anderson saying he is aware that i have been receiving errors on my computer and would i go and turn it on and have it in front of me for him to check. I knew it sounded dodgy so made up that my computer was in my daughters bedroom and she had gone to bed so wouldnt be able to get it. He asked when my daughter would be back!!!!!! I explained that she was a baby and was in bed. He then asked if it was her computer or mine. I explained again that she is only one! He giggled and asked if she uses her computer mainly for work or if I use it. I just said the computer wasnt available until tommorrow and he gave me the following number and his name to phone him back on, saying he was from Online PC Solutions, 0209 0999181 and asked me to call him tommorrow between 11am and 7pm. I will not be returning his call!

- Sambo| 1 replyHi I received one of these calls tonight too. The guy said he was from company called "Live PC solutions" based in New York. He had a really thick indian accent and really hard to understand. He said he was aware that he worked for microsoft and that my computer had an infection. I asked him to confirm where he was from and he gave me a website which looked a bit dodgy if you ask me. He asked me to look at eventviewer - which I did not do - he was very keen for me to press OK, which I said I was not happy to do. I asked him to explain to me exactly what he thought was wrong with my computer, he said that this infection, not virus had been down loaded to my computer through internet and that he would clean it up. He said it will work faster after. I explained I only had computer about 1 month. Where the hell did he get my phone number from - I am on TDS and he seemed to know my name. Phone number is withheld. I said I was not happy to give him any details about my machine and said he could call me back on thurs as not convenient to speak to him now. Is he able to have hacked into my machine?? I didn't tell him any details, but the other guy on this mail has his computer was on, as was mine, and he had problems with his??
How do we stop this and who should we tell??
