I got a text message from +447796250165 which went like this :

'Tony if U get bored 2night try Amanda on 02081145568...she is a xXx hottie..very very naughty young lady...good luck. Ave a good nite..Dave. wink wink.'

I called it out of curiosity half-knowing what to expect. Sure enough in the first 5 seconds it turned out to be an Adult Chat Line so I hung up before I had to mortgage my soul to pay the phone bill.

I got the same text this morning.  No company details in the SMS so the fact that they used such a devious trick is pretty disgraceful.

Same message today. I wouldn't say the trick is all that devious - you would have to be pretty dumb to fall for it.

A quick bit of advice for people wanting to phone to see what these lines are: do it from a pay phone, and only put in loose change up to a maximum you can afford to lose. That way, if the call stings you fast, you won't get a humongous bill.

I got the same landline number sent in a different worded text a short time a go. Managed to do some investigative work... See my entry regarding the mobile number 07796232154 (+447796232154).

Basically, from what I can find out the company behind it is called Coulomb Limited, and they have already had warnings from Ofcom and PhonePayPlus/ICSTIS!!

I sent them a text back telling them to remove my number from their database, otherwise I would be contacting Ofcom, PhonePayPlus and Vodafone (who's network the mobile number appears to be operating on).

There at it again but from a new number, received this last night:

I had the same "VVV horni" message. I'm on T mobile. the network we are on is irrelevant. They can send it to any number they choose.

The point Sarah, 23 march, was making is that THEY are operating from a vodafone number, that's all.

Very annoying receiving these texts, you can't even text stop to them.

Got similar message from 07824652689 at quarter to one in the morning - wife was not impressed. Anyone know how I make a complaint? (and is it worth complaining?)

I got a similar message saying sorry we didnt have time to talk last time, gimme a call on 0208 114 5568 from 07786 409548.

So I called back the mobile number and it sounded like some dumb broad from overseas. I ran a few tried n tested routines on her and arranged to meet up.
Turns out she only lived about 5 stops on the tube away. Anyways in the end went back to her pad and knocked boots! She was a bit of a butter face though, so I won't be doing that again.

Well, since I've been living in Britain, I've had a few texts like this. the first one i had i believed it was a once in a life time opportunity to find that special someone. However, but i soon find it is a scam because i've tried it 4 times and now i have no money. i think it is disgustin to play on people like this
