Had a cold call from this number, some bloke called Hugh Herschell, said he worked for Lavelle and Partners. Trying to sell plots of land outside Burnley, showing information about how regeneration money up there is going to increase land values. Nothing on this Lavelle and Partners but they seem to have gone now. Office were based in Canary Warf and the main number on their website does not work. I checked the Burnley local govt website and there is no planning or intention for planning in the near future on this particular site so looks like a scam. Stay clear of the company and hang up if this guy calls.

That would be Hugh McCully Herschell, a low life who lives in Spain and has been running these scams for years! Glad you weren't caught, he left me with a €500 bar bill.

It certainly would.  He's back in the UK now.  I leant him some money and he has spent 9 months avoiding me.  Changed his phone number.  Managed to track him down now.  He must have sent me 40 messages saying that he will meet me and that the money has been paid into my account.  The man is a serial liar and to be avoided at all costs. DO NOT EVEN ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH HIM!!!!!!

Yes hugh is a lovely chap ripped me off for £300 on a suit he now uses the name mark stephens which happens to be my company name

Iv just made some enquiries with a close friend who works for "people data" and he has confirmed that this Hugh Mccully Herschell had infact left the country! There are reports he's now in Brazil and is not looking to come back atall !

I met Hugh Herschell in July 2009 when he worked for Morgan Forbes and developed a friendship with him. Towards the end of last year he 'invested' £15.5k of my entire savings in the Burnley land deal. Needless to say this 'investment' is worthless.I just want to update matters here. He has moved from his flat in Baron's Court recently (July/Aug 2011). His father and mother live in South Africa and I have their contact details. I spoke to his father who has cancer and he refused to help me deal with Hugh. I have reported Lavelle & Partners to Ian Moseley at Tower Hamlets Trading Standards and I suggest some of you do the same (0207 364 6840). I have also reported him to the Met police. Again, you might want to do the same - 0300 123 1212. I have spoken to a former Director of Lavelle and Partners who is the company accountant. He was very helpful. Companies House inform me that Lavelles is still operating and they can be halted from closing down if caught in time. The Lavelle's MD is Johannes Boode - apparently a Swiss national. I assume he lives in the UK and would welcome any information anyone has on him. You can report Lavelles to the FSA Investigations Division 0845 606 1234. I would like to get together with some of you who have lost money to Hugh so we can coordinate a campaign to track him down or at least to do his reputation as much damage as possible and make Lavelle's accountable for operating a scam. Let me know if anyone wants to join me in this. I want my money back!

Yes, I would like to get involved too and get this maniac stopped for good and get what he deserves. I invested in Burnley too and another site. I have also reported my case to Action Fraud and the police back in June but not sure what has happened about this and if I should chase this up. I have also reported it to the FSA. I also want my money back but cannot get hold of Hugh. I have uncovered a whole list of lies that Hugh told me and I want him stopped. Hugh moved on to KXG Capital and said that Lavelle's Director's moved over to KXG Capital, but they've never heard of Lavelle's. He was operating a scam there too. How can we get in touch as I would like to stay anonymous on here? I need to speak to Lavelle's accountant as well.
