- LucyI got a call from this number too. any ideas? is it a London number? 0208
- Danasking for a mrs. smith that allegedly lives with me (also mentioning a website that i've forgotten) that had also been looking on the internet for cheaper land line service. said that there was no mrs. smith at my address and politely requested he remove my number from the call list/dialler database. he said he'd call back and the line went crackly. i said not to call again, he said no problem, i'll try again later. i asked if i could speak to his supervisor and the line went dead. there was a poor quality ine throughout as if he was calling from abroad, 0208 is a london number, though.
- sarah cresswellI am being harrassed by these people. If you ring back though you are told it is the wrong number. They re ringing my home repeatedly and even my mobile! Who are they and what do they want?
- TomJust had a call from this number, some Asian sounding guy asked for me ny name. Asked who was calling and the line went dead. Weird.
- Mrs SmithKeeps ringing, but line goes dead.
- parisi just had quite a lengthy call with them.claimed to be talkcom , linked to BT, apparently phoning to reduce my BT line rental. had all the patter, knew my name and postcode (possibly from entering competitions). i was suspicious because phone is in my partners name. in course of patter casually asked for another contact number such as a mobile which i refused to give. Said he would send out paperwork to me after verifying a few details. said i would have a cooling off period of 14 days etc- all very convincing. asked a few routine questions- again convincing about nature of line for example could i make outgoing calls etc. when it came to 'we'll just verfy the direct debit details in order to set up your new account' i said that he could send me the paperwork if he wished, but that i wasn't sorting out direct debit details over the phone at which he replied 'I am not sending you anything' and hung up.
CLEARLY A SCAM - Mrs Agot a call02082809190 - stated "openreach" asking for Mr S, when told that this person/s no longer live at this address and the family have moved asked me about my telephone, when I interrupted and asked him to remove my number from their database and that I was not interested and my telephone number was x directory he said "no need to speak to me like a [***]". Very nice people. How do you stop

- James P replies to sid| 1 replyJust had this call... Ezetalk wanting to offer me cheap broadband and phone... The name was DAN from EZETALK ... Was a cold call and said I entered a competition and it was ending tonight.
I never enter competitions so I knew it was a scam... went on about how he used to work for TalkTalk as I am on that , and he wanted details and card numbers to sign me up to a new package.
I said I am not interested as to which I hung up.
2 Mins later ... the phone rang... unknown number displayed. It was 'DAN' again...
Wanted to know what happened ... I said something nasty and I hung up.
2 MINS later , someone else rang up from EzeInternet , .... someone called 'Ian' , same company , same story.
Seems like a forever going problem.

- huddsy| 1 replyi have just recieved a call from the esy talk/eze talk people
asking to confirm my details as they are going to save me lots of money compared to BT,
very good sales patter and then im asked to give them my bank details !
when told that there will be no chance of that EVER happening im hit with some almost partially convincing patter about my bank putting all those details on a simple cheque or paying in book etc and that its ok to give my account number and sort code out over the phone !
NO NO NO mate its not going to happen i told him but he still pressed, even when i said forget the whole thing he still pushed !
what he didnt know was that i have a laptop on most of the time and was reading this report on the number he called on as we where speaking
after hanging him up i redialled the number on my caller id list.......not recognised.......obviously a scam so AVOID AVOID AVOID- Caller: EASY TALK/EZE TALK

- huddsy replies to huddsyAdam i hope you are sure...and seeing as you happily gave your details out over the phone could you post them here and then you will see theif dangers of giving them to anybody with a convincing patter is true
we only need them to confirm your bank account is ok and that you havent been scammed mate its just so we can confirm this for you and save you some cash ! - Dan replies to James PYou know what - Maybe people should investigate on the website as I have been in sales for over 7 years and sales management to boot, It is not my fault that the UK public have suddenly become so paranoid that everything is a scam! Pay your over rated telephone rates, get your rubbish broadband I do not care!
- Dan from EzeTalkHi - Sorry about my previous message, It may have sounded rude but I am a very professional and proud sales person, I do not work for rogue's and have enough experience in sales to spot a dodgy company, I also have over 2 years sales management experience!
EzeTalk is an up and coming Independant Telecoms provider, I have worked here for over 6 months and they offer very competitive rates in terms of package costs, free calls, broadband and guess what, they are 100% UK based unlike the BT's and Talk Talk's of this world!
Giving bank details over the phone may seem a bit risky to ignorant people but i can assure you it is not: NEVER EVER give out your card details as that is risky. Your sort code is your banks address in numbers and your account number is your id with your bank so that they can separate you from their millions of other customers! The only 2 things people can actually do with these details is set up a direct debit with a legitimate company or pay money into your account, anyone who knew anything about their bank account would realise this, if a direct debit is set up on your account or money is taken out via a direct debit that you are not happy with or have not authorised then you are entitled to a FULL and IMMEDIATE refund from your bank or building society!
As for cold calls, the data we work off is from people who have entered a competition and have specifically ticked a box saying they would be interested in saving money on their landline and broadband bills, there really is no gain in us or our agents contacting people that are straight out of a phone book when this type of WARM data is available!
I hope this has helped you get over what ever part of this you think is potentially a scam, in my eyes, the true scam is companies such as Sky, BT, Talk Talk and Virgin being able to charge extremely higher prices than needed just because they are a 'brand name' why pay more for something when you can get EXACTLY the same and in some cases better for a fraction of your costs?? If a mortgage provider called you and said that they would save you £20k on your mortgage I bet you people wouldn't be quite as rude aye!
We are just trying to do our jobs!
Oh and as for account number and sort codes, mine 308463 19439668 Lloyds TSB - Good luck doing anything that is not rectifiable with those details, however, if you wish to deposit me some money then that would be much appreciated as because of people like you, sales are hard to come by at the moment!

- Sonja SparrowJustg received a call from this number saying they could reduce my bills but I am a distributor with UWDC so no-one could convince me they are cheaper than UWDC!
- Caller: Easy something
- Lynn| 5 repliesI signed up and in my first month I got a bill of £1000, I was called from this office by an Asian sales agent, told me there would be no disruption, I would get unlimited free calls and unlimited broadband, all of which turned out to be a lie. I was cut off for 2 weeks and what was supposed to be £20 a month turned out to be £1000, that was over a month ago and still no refund or turnaround!
The office sounds very unprofessional, I could hear what was supposed to be a manager screaming his staff swearing and bullying! When I asked who was shouting the agent said that's my manager providing us with motivation and laughed! Stupidly I proceeded with the sale.
DO NOT sign up with this company or with anyone who calls off of this number, unprofessional to say the least!- Caller: eze talk
