    I got a call from that number Last Sunday, and today as well (Sunday), both at the same time 3.50pm. I say Hello and theres just silence at the other end so I hang up.

    If you are receiving calls from 021-2338600, this is, as noted above, a call from the UPC sales office in Cork. What you need to do is the following - call 0818 27 28 27. A sales assistant will answer the phone. You have to request to be removed immediately from their automatic (re)dial list. Apparently, this used to take a week, but now, as though through some benevolent gesture on the part of UPC, they will inform you that they are removing you immediately. Apparently, they have tightened up their procedures on this (as of 27.06.2010).

    Receiving phonecalls in this manner is a form of harassment. UPC is a big enough company not to engage in this type of sales behaviour. They are fully aware of the reputation they have as a company (even though they will remind you that they are no longer NTL and are now UPC). Be that as it may, I would encourage you to ask the sales rep who answers the phone that management at UPC needs to be made aware that receiving phonecalls outside of business hours, and numerous phonecalls on a daily basis, is absolutely inappropriate.

    something going wrong with company if this continues;as a costumer i am paying them a lot of money;its just not good enough.

    Hi there,

    You have to call them and express your dissatisfaction. UPC doesn't care unless you kick up a huge fuss. You should insist on speaking to someone in management. Of course, that person will magically be 'on another call' when you ask to speak to him/her. However, make sure you get a callback from them. If you don't complain, nothing will happen. UPC does not care about its clients at all unless you create a stink.
