This is a stupid PC hacking number:  Heavy Indian accent: 'Hello Ma'am, I'm calling about your computer - are you the owner of this computer?'  Me: '...What??'
Him:  'Your computer - are you the owner of the computer?'  Me: What are you talking about?  I don't have a computer'
Him: (Can you believe this?) 'Oh my God!.  Puts the phone down.
What an idiot.  Rang back to see what the number was and it doesn't take incoming calls, so am reporting it onto this site as luckily my friend warned me about this scam previously where some random Indian calls your home and starts accusing you of having all sorts of viruses onyour computer and you need to pay to fix them!!  What a cheek!  Also they always have pathetically made up names like Peter Parker, John Smith yet are as Indian as you can get!

Picked up the phone and got no answer. When it eventually hung up dialled 1471 and got this number. Subsequently called a few minutes later by 02538020308 and got a similar story to the above about their server detecting that our computers had had viruses, spyware etc. downloaded onto them. I told him that that was rubbish and he chopped the call.

Just rang me.  I do not answer calls on home phone as most people who actually know me call me on my mobile but I always do 1471 when the ringing stops.  Also got a call last night at 9.05 p.m.

Just had a call from this number, whoever it was hung up when I answered.

Called from this number, answered, total silence at other end, then they hung up.

I have had this number ring me more than once over the past few days and every time I have picked up there has been total silence at the other end and then they hang up. We have had people call us before about our computers supposedly having viruses etc, Im gathering this one is the same but they arent talking.

This number rung me tonight. Silent then they rung up a minute later. They must have decided to try Dunedin tonight.

i've had this number call me 3 times in the last 2 day and twice tonight. their number comes up on the phone and when i answer it there is just silence, this is a first for me and it is very strange...

Indian voice, got me to go through loads of things on my computer as I had supposedly been hacked and viruses been put on my PC. I didn't do anything he told me but was telling him I was. Tried to get me to go to their website which I now understand introduces a virus and you have to pay them to get rid of it.
When he finally realised I was having him on he called me some really bad swear words and hung up. Took him about 7 minutes to find me out though.
He he, a bit extra on his phone bill and time wasted which would save someone else the problem.
