I received a call from this number on 28th January 08.  The lady asked if we were selling a Landrover, I asked if she was selling advertising space, she then became abusive and put the phone down on me.  I reported the number to nuisance calls who suggested that I try and search the number on Google.

These people are a scam, tell them you aren't interested!  If you have an advert autotrader or similar selling a vehicle they ring you saying they have a buyer for your vehicle.  Basically it boils down to them wanting about £80 from you to so called pass you the details of the interested buyer!  Surely if there is someone wanting to buy your vehicle they will look in the auto trader like everyone else! Don't pay them any money, you will never see it again and they do not have a buyer!

They have called me 5 times in the past week saying thet they have a Buyer for the car which I advertised. I just tell them to ask the buyer to call themselves if they are interested. They replied that Buyers register with them so that they can do the search for them. I asked them how to register as a Buyer with them as I would be looking for a new car and they just got abusive and hung up.

I only said that to them as I knew they were a scam !

Def a scam - they call when you put an ad in the autotrader.
I asked them for the company name and she hung up on me. Reported them to the Telesafe people autotrader use who screen cold calls to your mobile in relation to a vehicle ad you have up.

Its nonsense, as above they said they had five buyers in my area and that they needed 90 pounds. Apparently when the transaction goes through you get the money back.

Do not believe a word of it! These people need to be reported to trading standards.

Probably the most badly thought out scam ever. I bet they came up with it down The Dog and Duck on karaoke night.

what a bunch of cow boys. i was silly enough to fall for it. DERRRRRRRRRRRRRR but now they keep ringing me to see if i want to join. When i already have.when you try to ring customer services no one answers

Just had a call from motor market uk after advertising my vehicle in the Bargain Pages this morning.  They told me that they have four buyers for my car.  I asked them for more details about their company as I was a bit dubious.  Glad I checked out their phone number on this site!

I was stupid enough to fall for this.  They rang to say they had 4 people interested in buying my car.  Not heard a thing since.  It says in the T&C's that you can get a weekend break if it doesn't sell in 7 days.  Wonder if this is true?!?  Agree with all comments above-a big scam.  Just wish I'd seen this first.

Had put advert in Auto trader and been called twice about advertising with Motor MarketUK - thought i would check out number.  So glad I have , will not be using this "company"! Thanks for all the warnings.....

Man am I slow RIPPED OFF TODAY  BUT I have spoken to CONSUMER DIRECT if YOU ALL complain to them they can be investigated by the DEPARTMENT OF FAIR TRADING even if you weren't robbed like some of us if we all complain it may stop them doing it to others DONT JUST " OH WELL I GOT CAUGHT OUT " DO something about it.Its because we do nothing that these people get away with all sorts Did you all no they have 3 DIFFERENT ADDRESSES 2 VAT NUMBERS But I  have traced them to an address in Edmonton London

wHEN TOLD THE CAR WAS SOLD THE CALLERS WERE ABUSIVE AND HUNG UP. THIS IS A MONEY MAKING SCAM. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY THEM A 'DEPOSIT' WHICH WOULD BE REFUNDED ON THE SALE OF THE CAR. APPARENTLY THERE WERE A HUGE ARRAY OF BUYERS IN THE LOCAL AREA WANTING MY CAR - DONT BE FOOLED

I spoke to them the first time and the offer sounded reasonable... until they mentioned the one-off payment of £90.  When they explained that £80 of this would be returned on successful completion of a sale, I suggested that we turned things around and I gave them £80 on completion of the sale, and nothing before.  They declined and decided to call me from a private number every hour for the rest of the day.  Muppets.

Nearly fell for this! They were extremely polite on the 'phone and referred me to their web site www.motormarketuk.com but luckily my son found this forum. I then did 1471 and lo and behold 02476231100 popped up.

I have my car advertised in Auto Trader and they keep ringing me, today they have rung twice!! Guessed was a scam, Am going to ring Auto Trader.

My partners car is advertised in autotrader here in Ireland and a couple of hours ago a nice woman rang from match express and said she had chap waiting to buy our car and we just had to pay €15 paperwork and €135 which we would get back on completion. I thought this has to be a scam, glad i checked out this site, beware Ireland these scam artists are branching out.

Yep these people are def a scam, had a few of them ring me up just play them along a bit it can be fun, and then at the end of it tell them it is illegal for them to advertise your car without permission and they tend to very quickly hang up! but can make your work day a bit more fun, But they are a Con same as vechilevisionuk!!!!

i also know that motor market uk is a scam. my mate tried to sell his car with them and got caught out. He was shouted at and when he became abusive back they constantly called him back and were rude. they need to be closed down!
