My wife got a call from this number, guy posed as Tax agent calling from Canberra and offered me upto 50% back form my tax paid. anybody know may be scam?

me too, got the call, he didnt sound very convincing, said I need to get a Western Union form from the post office and call him back ,no doubt with my bank details. I heard somewhere Western Union is a route to exploit with Ebay transactions etc. Apparently Julia Gillard is offering me money because I dont have a criminal record, sounds crazy, sorry!

I got a same calling from this number. it is voice fishing i think. dont buy that

My wife also got a call today from a Roger Wilson on this number who claimed to be from ATO and told her to also get a western union form. Very shady character claiming $5000+ was being transferred to her for having clean record etc.

If ATO had this money for my wife why not transfer direct to her account.

Too good to be true and whoever this guy was is lucky I can't find him otherwise he'd need 5 grand for medical and dental costs.

i got a call from this number as well telling me being  a genuine TAX Payer and having no criminal records you are entitled to some $3000. confiming my address and stuff but i said i just arrived in australia before 6 months and GOTCHA!!!!!

He stuffed up.....SCAM!!!

me too, I got call yesterday and I call back today. he said his name stefan edward from Tax Office Canbera, since the first he called me , I didn't trust him because his name look like european name but his dialek is indian ...ha ha haaa LOL .....you want to deceve me.

He said Julia Gillard government offer me 3640 dollars because I have 6 criteria....I just remember  one of them, I paid tax on time ......ha ha ha funny. Not me paid on time, my employer. to claim the money I have to transfer 250 to daniel parera's account, he said  this money to help people in India .....

comeback to your country man!!!!!, Australia not for people like you.

Austin Gordon is still out there making calls. I'm suppose to call this number back and verify who I am. What a hoax.....

Haha got the same call and i only been in the country for just over a year guess Mr Gordon needs to do some more research

This number(0261003159) rang up claiming to be 'James Lee'from the ATO in Canberra and that the ATO had a refund for us. They provided us with a TR Ref #.I have received several scam calls previously but this was very authentic. They even had our address details and said that they would be around our house to deliver the cheque. Then he went on to talk about a security UKASH voucher or something like that before I cut him off. The scary part was they had my personal details - What should I do?

Got a call from Roger Wilson posing himself as an employee from Canberra Tax Department. He told me that I am entitled for AUD$ 7200.42 under a govt scheme because of my good record. He sounded too unreal to me so I  called the Tax Deptt and confirmed about it and found that their is no such Government scheme where they will be giving money to people just like that.

Robot call. Left a message saying that there is an arrest warrant from the ATO. Scam

Just received a call from this number claiming to be the ATO requiring urgent call back or arrest warrant will be issued.
