A foreign caller calls and tells me I am receiving $7000. After asking several times why and still not being able to understand the caller I am advised to call 02 61004364 to speak to a supervisor. I can only imagine they are after Bank details and I hope no one has given them any. How many others out there are receiving this call.

Yes I got a call about an hour ago as well.

It's a known scam and it has been traced to the exact same call centre that the people from "Windows" are from.

I got the same call as sunny explained. I m sure these r fake calls. Be carefull

Hi, I got same call. The called asked me to claim $7000 from ATO canberra. For that I have to call (02)61004364. I was also given reference no. for this call. I told caller that his call seems to be fake. But he still asked me to call that no. in order me to claim that money. He told me his name as
george Parker.

I got the same call from George Parker yday about hte same time offering me $7000 for being a good citizen that i did not file for bankrupcy and that i had no criminal records...funny thing was that he claimed to have called from ATO office canberra when he had a really heavy indian accent....pluz u could hear ppl in the background....two minutes after he hung up....Jennifer Smith from ATO called me...n i went off at her...stupid prankers....got nothing better to do....making indians look bad!

even i got a call from jennifer with an indian accent...she was like am calling from ATO and the govt has decide to pay $7000 as a reward coz ur a good citizen, u pay ur utility bills in time no bankrupcy and the same [***]..i dont why these ppl are doing this....spoling the image of their country..what a [***]......

Even I got a similar call today with the same description as mentioned by others.  The catch over here now is that I should be making a donation of $270 to some needy child in India who is a part of the organisation UNICEF.  This payment can be made thru any of the Western Union centres. They were also helpful in finding the nearest centre in my area for me.   Once I make this payment and advise them of the receipt no. I will be provided with a security code which can be quoted to my Bank Manager and the Bank will be in a position to give a cheque of $7000 on the spot.  
The lady sounded quite confident and when asking if this is a scam - she even mentioned that she also has a family with kids and wouldn't stoop down to do such dirty jobs.  She was quite convincing.  I also tried checking with the bank if they have come across any such customers and the answer was NO.  If ATO has such one off payment plans, I am sure they will be sending out letters to the eligible recipients to advise.  The lady also mentioned that we can take it up with police and check the sanctity of this call.

I got the same call from mr.john williams( his accent was funny) n he told me to call on 0261004364,then i l get a 6 digit code so i can claim 7000$ from any bank bcz i m good citizen paying all my bills on time,but the basterd did nt knw tht i did not pay any bill from last three months,hahahaha so plz everyone b careful dnt pay any money when they tell u to supponser a child.....

A Jennifer Smith called yesterday from the 'Australian Tax Office' and said 'I am calling from ATO and the federal government has decided to pay you $7000 as a reward' when I asked why her answer -  because you are a good citizen, you pay your utility bills on time, no bankrupcy, good record, etc etc. She asked me to call 0261004364. I did not call. I think everyone should know what is happeneing. Big scammers!!

We got a call as well and yes indeed they said that they are calling from ATO and gave a reference number saying that we could claim our $7000 by calling acct dep  no, 0261004364.

We called up and no one lifted teh phone intially and in the second attempt they said our server is down please call after some time.

I recieved a call taday and she want me to deposit $250.00 to the western union and send her the reciept number and that is the only way she will give me the pin number. Its all [***]. Thgeir paln is to take money from atleast 100000 people x  $25.00= 2.5 millon. So be careful.

Same thing as all ur calls. They have my name, new home number and family details!

Hey even i recieved the same phone call from jennifer, and it is completely fake so please dont call on the number they give and also dont give any of your bank details.

i have got the phone call too. jezz she was very confident. but since i was talking i have just googled this number and found out that this is spam. i saved my 270 - thanks.

I had the same exact converstion yesterday.

My Mrs got a call. She was definatly Indian and left message with my Mrs. I called back the same number. Indian trying to change her accent and trying to sound like OZ.

They called me just now, with and Indian accent. so funny and freaked me out.

One of my client received a call from pretending it from ATO and usual crap like being good citizen, for on-time lodgements etc ATO is rewarding him with $6000 but he has to deposit $1000.00 with Western Union and call them on 02 6100 4364 to provide security No so that $6000 Plus $1000 can be paid to him by a banker cheque - some one from ATO will visit him and pay the cheque. Though the caller have Christian name Kristina but the accent was South Asian. These fraudsters damaging the image of the region and trying to rip off innocent people. Shame on them.
